save the ref comments and getting frustrated by them, most are crooked and david stern has definite agendas defined by the superstar rule and that's before going into anything donaghy said

Nice home cooking for the Celtics to end that one. Pierce is all-over Carmelo's back and you call an offensive foul? And then Garnett steps out to trip Douglas on the screen to free up Allen?

I'm starting to remember why I don't watch the NBA. It's like there are three teams on the floor when you count the Refs and their indiscriminate calls.

It's horrible. I feel bad for Philly, they have no shot. They might outplay the Heat but they won't beat the refs. And Pierce charging into Melo before his pass to Allen was more of an offensive foul than what they called on Melo the previous possession. That said, you don't call a foul on either of those plays.

The games have been great so far but the officiating is just horrible. Let them play.

Also, the NBA has the worst schedule for the playoffs ever. I can see not playing back to back nights, but having two nights off between games in the same city? Ridiculous.

Then how'd the Spurs win 4 title? :D

Also, did the Celtics really run a play for Ray Allen to shoot a 3 pointer, down only 1?

he's their go-to guy so why not do it? ha just kidding i still don't understand taking a tougher shot when all you need is a dunk to win. oh well

...and i can't really explain the Spurs but this shit is rigged to the point where if it's determinable they will make it go one way a la boston tonight

that wasnt allen shel, that was stern shooting that one......did you watch the game? the foul calls down the stretch were horrible. if you are going to call a foul in the 1st period on a reach in or blocking foul, call it the same way down the stretch.thats all we ask for . looking at the whole picture shel, not just one shot.

Stars will always get calls but the Heat are just atrocious. Bill Simmons put it best when he said the officials dictate so much for the Heat. If the officials protect Wade and Bron, you can't stop them. Philly had 35 FGA inside 10 ft and Miami had 25. Miami had 13 more rebounds. As Simmons put it in a tweet, "FT's should not be 39-15 Mia."

And I won't touch on the Laker game. As soon as I call Gasol soft you'll jump all over me and that's not a battle worth fighting over and over. When the guy plays hard, the Lakers cannot and will not lose. Plain and simple. If he's a pussy, they are much more vulnerable, especially with Kobe's age and Artest's sudden ability to forget how to play defense.

And whoever said the scheduling of games is fucked up, amen!

The Lakers have a bigger FT attempt disparity this season than the Heat(and you gotta remember, Wade and Bron drive to the hole about as much as any players in the league).

And guess which team's opponents have taken the least amount of FTs this year? You guessed it, the Lakers.

Just sayin...

That stat doesnt bother me too much.

Games are won in the paint and at the FT line...Good teams get it done.

So, you're saying that Matt's stat bothers you then?

I just stated facts, so i'm guessing it's not my statement lol.

Its really sad how bad the officiating is and dictating such an awesome playoffs with great matchups.

The Celtics game was unwatchable at times. I hate the whiners about officiating but the NBA is definitely one of those that get a free pass with how bad it is.

Like I said earlier, its still the hardest professional sport to officiate but there hasnt been any improvements to get better besides the video reviewing. They need to clean house with these 50-80 year old refs and get some new blood in there away from the dirty era and start fresh.

There is no doubt some of these refs have a personal vendetta against some players and maybe starting fresh would help. Who knows but right now it suuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

personally i thought the Boston/Knicks and Thunder/Nuggets (nuggets had to fould twice just to get the Thunder into the bonus in the 4th) were the best two officiated games...there was not a whistle every single time someone drove to the bucket and was touched

Knicks 17 fouls, Boston 15 fouls...give me this any day and i'll enjoy watching

numbers don't mean as much as "what" they call, but i'm forever in the nba is rigged camp because the officials determine when they want to call a foul so i'll just leave it at that

I hear you but the ones they didnt call were the problem and the biggest outcomes in that game. Thats the thing, the officiating is to inconsistent. If they are going to call silly reach in fouls early in the game and those ridiculous offensive foul/screen type fouls they need to call them when moving screens and tripping occur late in the game as well.

Just be consistent and make calls based on the rules, not the name on the jersey or the quarter the game is in.

The trip (laughably bad no call, I thought he just stuck his leg out, Garnett actually fully steps into Douglass' path):
