Because they'd constantly be throwing them into the stands. Balls out of the package are slippery as shit.

Who said they had to be right out of the package?
They can still be worn in.

They should be randomly used during a game, that way no team knows what ball it is.

equating 1 lb less pressure in a football to a player doing steroids probably wasn't the smartest play

Not that this is any surprise thinking back to BountyGate, Ray Rice, and even the Adrian Peterson ordeal, but this doesn't happen in the MLB. This never happened under Stern or Silver. They take pretty swift actions. Even the Donald Sterling thing, that was dealt with pretty quickly and you felt the league office was pretty competent in doing so, even as it went to court.

Goodell continues to botch every investigation that goes to court, every single time without fail. He consistently lies to the public to the point of being caught not kinda iffy where he may have an out or excuse, but 100% caught lying where there's really no other way to spin it.

I keep thinking Goodell is the ringleader of one of those True Detective-like high society sex party rings and has incriminating pics of all 32 owners at said sex parties. I don't really have a better excuse as to why the owners would back him as strongly as they do and still allow him to handle disciplinary situations after all of the stuff that has been f'ed up on his watch.

That's absurd.

There was also his own Ted Wells report that concluded Brady was "generally aware", then when Goodell upheld the ruling on the appeal, one of his reasonings was that Brady was found to be the "mastermind", I think that was the exact wording he chose. He just constantly takes flimsy evidence and tries to act like it's rock solid and I guess just assumes no one will fact check. It's very odd, to be honest.

The judge also apparently called him out on the suspension length. 4 games, how much of that was for deflategate vs being uncooperative? How many games would Brady have been suspended if he cooperated? Makes Goodell look like a clown

Bummer, supposedly a lot of the reports from journalists were pretty off base. Lester Munson and a few of the other legal experts are basically saying Brady has no chance to win because the judge doesn't want to set a precedent that every time an appeal is upheld, the NFL player would take it to his court.

Munson said the judge going hard after the NFL and mocking them to a point was a common tactic that a judge will take to go after the stronger side and poke holes in their position to try and get them to be a bit more willing to concede and strike a deal.

Munson said if he were the NFL he would just ride it out to the judge's ruling without making a deal because there's no shot Brady can win.

Bummer!!!

well iunno. Would you equate a pitcher who put shit on his hands to throw the ball better to PED? You're enhancing your abilities by cheating. If dropping the pressure allows for him to throw the ball easier (which it would), i can see why the argument was used. cheating is cheating is cheating.

Now granted im indifferent, just wanted to argue your point.

Judge was tough on the NFL yesterday. All reports/journalists and myself took it to believe the NFL took one on the chin.

But the few actual legal experts like Lester Munson have basically said it's a slam dunk win for the NFL coming up, Brady has no chance. Judge wa tough on the NFL in order to try to get them to cave and make a deal with Brady so the judge doesn't have to come down and make a ruling.

I am sad.

also your whole rant was kinda funny

Adam Stern - He was always bitched about cheating - helping large markets like LA Boston n New York (see 88 draft for Ewing) + NBA Refs going to jail for rigging games
Silver - Made a racist old white owner step down for comments said in private (mind u, most old white rich owners are probably racist) - Also been around for 1 season so cant really judge his reign as commish.
MLB - Uhh, 10+ years of steroids? that they def knew about and only started to complain once feds got involved?
FIFA - Literally gets bribed regularly

but ya, Goddell is sooooo bad for suspending a player who clearly cheated, smashed his phone, and then denies it.

The amount of pressure in a football has little to nothing to do with the outcome of a football game. This has been the worst NFL off season I can remember because of this stupid ass story.

Think about the 2 things you just brought up, game fixing by a ref and stripping an owner of his team. Both weren't as big of a deal as Tom Brady deflating balls. Not to play that card, but you're kinda proving my point here. Hell, even Tagliabue before Goodell woulda handled this swiftly. Everything Goodell does gets drug through the mud, for good reason, as he's lost like 4 of these in a row(maybe 3?) No other league has these crazy issues because they handle them infinitely better than Goodell. To be fair, if you disagree with that, you may be the only one that thinks that, just throwing that out there.
