he's a compelling speaker and does present data to back up his points. so I respect the discussion.

i'd say its sort of unfair to do comparison analysis of MJ's entire career numbers thru age 39 vs Lebron thru age 32. Without looking, i'd guess MJ's career FG% was better than Lebron's thru this point in his career... just a guess

if MJ was playing in todays NBA he could guard the majority of 4's at least on a part time basis. In his day the 4 was a big bruiser who likely played back to the basket and was 6'9-6'10 260 with very limited mobility and shooting range. today its a more finesse position that is used to stretch the floor. Granted he might be giving up 3-4 inches and 40-60 lb's to some of them but not many of those 4's are backing guys down anymore so his 200 lb frame wouldn't really matter much.

A better look into their numbers might be to look at per 100 possession or per 36 min data to try to even out the styles and pace of play a bit more. MJ is the more efficient and higher scorer when you consider his career up til age 32 and on a per 38 type analysis.

finally, MJ's ws/48 is higher than Lebron's, MJ TO% is far less, TReb% numbers are very similar.

again taking into account a full MJ career thru age 39 when he was a shell of himself on the Wizards isn't really a fair way to look at it.

I'm still taking MJ in his prime with the 1st pick if you can guarantee me a roster that fits his needs, but I think Lebron puts you in a much more flexible spot to start a team if you can't guarantee ideal role players.

I went to sleep and didn't watch the game, just read about it. Crazy to get smoked at home when Kawhi doesn't play and how does Harden not attempt a shot until halfway thru 2nd quarter. Strange game

The Rockets only made 9 two point baskets. That's the lowest total since 1983. It might be the lowest ever but I don't feel like looking it up.

*Edit*. I just saw that the lowest ever is actually a game between the Fort Wayne Pistons and the Minneapolis Lakers in 1950 where both teams combined for nine baskets in a 19-18 thriller between two teams of gritty, fundamentally sound gym rats.

Totally thought he was going to do his patented fast man drive to the hole.

Which team matches up better against the Cavs?

Neither?

I guess the Wizards, but I don't think it matters much.

Wizards can probably score on CLE, but CLE will likely score at will on them.

I think Bradley thought so too, he was 2 feet off him and on his heels

Stevens is so amazing to watch on set in bounds plays. really hurt them that they didn't have another timeout to call another play and they were forced to go with the running Thomas 3.

in terms of matching up with the Cavs, the Celtics would have home court so they would theoretically have a better shot but unless LeBron is cold neither really has a chance.

Such bad luck for the Spurs.

Up 23 in the 3rd quarter, and Kawhi gets hurt on a probably dirty play by Pachulia.

Warriors immediately score 16 straight after Kawhi leaves.

4 minutes left as I am typing this but man I have not seen a Pop team run such bad offense for an entire quarter. Nearly every possession is a turnover and they are not running anything. I know GS can crank up the D but this is ugly. Tough break losing Kawhi but they need to settle down.
