Pretty sure it was protected to where NO kept the pick if it were 1-4, Memphis got the pick if it was 5-14(meaning NO misses the playoffs but doesn't get into the top 4 in the lottery), and going to Portland if it's 15-30.

We made the playoffs, so Portland gets the pick from the CJ deal. Griff did a great job trading the pick multiple times. I'm pretty sure it'll convert to 2 2nds for Memphis now.

When you consider that 1st that didn't convey, we got off of Bledsoe, we swapped out Adams for Valenciunas, AND we swapped 1st rounders this past season giving Memphis 10 and we took pick 17 and still got the better player(if you do a redraft, Trey Murphy goes ahead of Williams)...Pelicans absolutely crushed that trade and the aftermath of the trade.

That is a lot of moving parts to a trade(s). I still like Adams for his offensive rebounding ability (memphis lead the league in offensive boards this year). Does Valenciunas get on the glass on offensive? I haven't watched many NO games exccept for 2 or 3 in the playoffs

Good but not a good as Steven Adams.

But the Pels were the 3rd best offensive rebounding team so we lost virtually nothing in that regard but got all of the offense that Valenciunas adds.

I don’t know if Murphy goes ahead of Williams in a redraft. Williams started most of the year and looks like he has a chance to be really good. I’d say it’s 50/50 who has a better career but I may lean Williams

He's already been ahead of Williams in at least the 1st redraft I've seen on The Athletic.

Oladipo getting these minutes is probably the first time I’ve second guessed Spo in ages.

He played well when Jimmy was out because we needed that usage 1 type who could make his own shot but his role now needs to be complimentary and the ball stops too much in his hands and the offense just hasn’t been flowing the last couple games. Probably the worst I’ve seen us play offensively. People mention the poor 3 Pt % but it’s not even just the % the quality of the looks is a lot worse.

Lowry hurting has also been an issue but I can handle him as he understands his role in the offense.

Would much rather see Duncan or Gabe or even Caleb out there.

2-2 going into game 5’s are always huge and this is no different

Going 7-35 from 3 was painful to watch.

Really enjoyed seeing Dipo come back and play well but completely agree. I want to see Martin and Duncan get some more pull.

Man, it was all downhill as soon as George made this post.

Just a long list of bad news for his hero in a short time.

No matter how many times they show the replay, how his knee got bruised from that I'll never know. Guy must have the kind of raw grip power that crushes bones.

it didn't. There's video from earlier in the 2nd half where he hurt it and started limping.
