I would agree with nick but both of these QBs arent someone I would build a franchise around so I agree with Shel.
Nick won't get chippy with you like he did with me.... Or Reign, so you got that going for you.

So you are saying I am wrong because you do feel the top 2 QBs in the draft are worthy of building a franchise around or are you saying I am wrong because you dont do the trade for Brees at this point in time?

It really is hard to crack you and Shel sometimes. Must be that small town communication upbringing.

i just dont see any value in keeping a 37 yr old over the #1 pick in the draft. You dont even have to replace the Qb sitch if its that dire this yr. Youre clearly going into a rebuild if you deal brees, use the #1 as trade bait to others to stock pile, or draft another player.

I dont even follow Shel's logic in this post in retrospect. 3 years to be good, couldnt even win the division and finished 7-9 lol. so then you go "weak division could win". thats true, then go to the playoffs and lose, so then drafting late in the draft, and then Brees DOES retire, and you have nothing to show for it. And truthfully NO isnt winning anytime soon.

Range = Difference between min and max. Brees is no more inconsistent than any QB listed and leans towards being more consistent.

The statement was that Brees was inconsistent. The graphs prove nothing without context and a sample to compare it to. When you said you agreed with nick, I took that as you agreeing with him that Brees was inconsistent.

No one thought Baltimore would win a SB a couple of years ago.

No one thought NYG would win both of their SBs

No one thought PIT would win the year they went 9-7

And so on and so forth...

I honestly haven't paid any attention to what shel/nick are debating... I just jumped in to point out that throwing those stats around to prove inconsistency was terrible. :-)

What's the actual argument here?

Hypothetically... Winston vs Brees?

Winston... and that says a lot coming from me. But it's not really a statistical argument.

Saints should want to trade Brees

No chance Brees has 3 years left of good QB in him

He might have 3 good years left, I think that's fair. But if the Saints could get substantial value for him, I think it's in their best interest to make a move.

Going back to communicating with you and Shel, 100% agree with this and we were from the beginning. I didnt even look at Nick's graphs as I was more on the main argument that I would trade Brees for the #1 pick, easily.

We got there. Just took the scenic route in beautiful Cincinnati to get there.

Like these numbers:

Brees was the #2 ranked QB on PFF this season behind Aaron Rodgers and was the 4th most pressured QB in the NFL. He had the most plays where he was hit while throwing.

I havent read through the argument about trading Brees.

Personally I dont see the Saints winning the NFC. Just my opinion. Trading him now and getting a boatload in return plus shedding 26 mill in cap space isnt the worst idea I have ever heard

Demarco Murray heading to Philly to potentially sign with the Eagles. I'm not sure about this one either. It's probably just an attempt to get Dallas to make their offer a little better.
