Dave, whats your take on capital punishment being the voice of reason when it comes to hate, violence, and hugs?

Many appeals coming for sure but as of now, that is the sentence.
headed to supermax prison in terra haute, IN. it would be awesome if he never even made it to the penn and some one sniped his ass beforehand.
Nah. Let him suffer for a while, then let the families (that I presume get to watch if they choose) get their chance for closure.
in a way, that's kind of my point. if he gets shot, the whole world will be able to see it. if he goes away for 30 years before he gets the gas its going to drain more money from our government since it costs twice more to house an inmate on death row than regular inmate, and then there are all the appeals and defense costs. basically, Its going to cost more to keep him alive than he's worth in 1000k life times for the acts for which he participated.

just some very sad testimony and probably more like this everywhere of that day but this one was tough to read:
Tldr: He knew is 8 year old son, Martin Richards, wouldn't make it and had to act fast or risk loosing his 7 year old daughter too (she was missing her leg). He left his son to die and rushed his daughter to the hospital where her life was saved. That was the last time he saw his son alive.
Every time I hear about Boston I think about what Bill and his family went through that day. It is one of the saddest things I have ever heard. As a father myself it makes me feel Ill when I think about it.
Bill Richards urged the jury to not pursue the death penalty.
His future for the next however long and however many appeals he wants his lawyers to go through. 23 hours a day.

I would think he wouldnt appeal and wants to die as soon as possible especially considering the note he left in the boat about joining his god and all of that. Not sure why he even turned himself in. Maybe he was too scared to actually go through with it.

i'm not sure i have an answer for you, cause i'm not sure i'm mature enough to know how i feel in this extreme of a situation.

clearly, like everyone, i find what he did to be disgusting and lowest form or earth type stuff. i don't think he deserved anything more than a fair trial... which he got.

in terms of a punishment, i just don't believe in 'hating' people or torturing people. i believe in compassion and understanding ignorance.

situations like this really challenge my beliefs but one principle in Buddhism says something along the lines of 'the more evil that comes from him, the more good will go from me'. i try to think about that a lot when i get angry and want revenge of some sort.

Wow. So, you pay $190 per hour to peddle yourself around town AND bring your own beer. That's pure genius right there. They've got to be making a killing.

Times like this I sit back and think, "Seriously man, how could you not think of this idea yourself..."

I saw this in SF last week. I was willing to chip in and fill in an extra seat if there was one open but alas I couldn't get my schedule to line up with open times.

this would be a blast.
