I'm officially on the Blue Jays bus for this post-season!
Was that in the 7th? That's a hell of a bat flip

That bat flip was dope. The reliever who is bitching about it can kick rocks. Don't give up bombs then.......

So it's ok for a pitcher that gets a big strikeout in a tough spot to fist pump and yell and get all fired up, but it's not ok for a player to flip a bat and watch a monster HR in a big game?? Just trying to make sense of this. Maybe baseball would be more enjoyable to watch if we had some more bat flipping...

More bat flips, more Cueto shimmys!
The good news is... now we can see both!

Call me old but I am a traditionalist when it comes to the unspoken rules. Don't show up a pitcher like that, you just did by hitting a 3 run bomb. I would have plunked the next 2 guys up at a minimum. It's just like you don't try to bunt for a hit in the 9th losing by 10 runs when you are being no hit. Maybe I am old but whatever

this is so stupid. just stop.
So it's not cool to throw your bat when its game 5 (elimination) at home and you hit a 3 run HR to take the lead. But youre ok with 2 batters afterwards being hit by a pitcher with a 90+ MPH fastball who will never bat?
lol, stupid. moving on

But what about the pitcher that just got a strikeout in a tough spot? Isn't that showing up the batter when he yells and fist pumps all the way off the field? Yeah let's continue to show no emotion in games and play like robots. That's way more exciting and enjoyable to watch. Fuck tradition. The sport needs a spark, and that did it for me.

Like I said, maybe I'm just getting old. It's the same reason I loved watching Barry Sanders score TD's, hand the ball to the ref and jogged to the sideline. No need for dancing, he'll be there again.

It's kind of funny, because I'm all about honoring the history of the sport and being a good sport. At the same time, I'm all for some friendly trash talking and showmanship. Even the team scripted celebrations don't bother me. Love seeing that bat flip, Cueto shimmy, a Joe Horn cell phone, TO with popcorn, and most of all, love seeing emotion and excitement come through on the golf course. I'd love to hear a golfer mic'd up, talking shit after smashing a 340 yd drive down the center. As long as it isn't getting personal, have fun with it.
