I was very curious going in to last week whether or not a Clemson win over highly ranked Iowa would leap frog the Tigers over the Huskers to the #1 spot....Indeed it did.

Great season to all thus far, looking forward to a few more before '11 drops. ;)

Advance to Championship Week
This week :
#2 Nebraska will take on Texas for the Big12 Championship in a rematch. Texas would like nothing more then to avenge the 63-35 beat down they suffered eariler in the year. Also 2 more victories for Texas could secure the current head coaches job, more on that later.

#14 Alabama faces off against the # 11 Tennesse Volenteers then week for the SEC championship, in what is another rematch of an eariler regular season games. The Vols have suffered only two losses this season and one of those losses was a curbstomping by the Crimson Tide of 52-7. The Vols are fighting to not be the product of a weak overall schedule.

#1 Clemson squares off against the North Carolina Tar Heels this week for the ACC championship. After a dismal season a year ago the Tar Heels find themselves back in the CHamp game against Clemson who is making thier 3rd straight appearence in the ACC championship. This is a rematch of the ACC champ game of two seasons ago which was one of the most exciting champ games ever, can this matchup dupilcate those fireworks.

#7 Tulane will take on S. Mississippi for the CUSA championship as they look to still try to grab an outside chance for a BC birth, after their second straight 11-1 regular season. With a victory Tulane would win their first ever CUSA conference championship. Can Hugme cap the great season with his first conference championship?

#3 Buffalo stempeded into the Ford Field eariler today to take on the Toledo Rockets for the Mac Championship. And with a 49 -28 Victory the Bulls won their 6th straight conference titile and pushed their unbeaten streak that now spans 5 seasons to 68 games. At this time they are slated to play in the orange bowl against at large Georgia. So for now Buffalo sits and waits for the other results today as they need serious help to defend their crown and a chance to win the 4th straight National Championship.

Next advance: Will advance around Tues around Midnight PST / Wed 3am EST

BREAKING NEWS

It was just annouced that Buffalo Bulls Coach . G. will become the highest paid coach in NCAA history after the end of the season. From undisclosed sources it is said that the Louisiana State University Tigers has offered Coach G somewhere in the neighborhood of 27-30m over 3 seasons.

Coach G is currently the coach of the #3 ranked Buffalo Bulls and 3 time defending National Champs. He could not be reached for comment at this time. But it is said that their will be a press conference held in Baton Rouge later on tommorrow.

Other sources suggest that Coach G would be allowed to finish out the season with Buffalo ( meaning their Bowl game which ever that may be) before becoming officially the coach of the LSU Tigers.

If sources are correct this would end a 9 year tenure that saw Buffalo go 109 -13 (68 straight wins current), 6 conference titles, and 4 national championships. Which also produced star players and NCAA legends, RB Jeffvon Gill, and WR Michael Lilly.

Advance to Bowl Week 2
This week :

Image

Image (6-6) vs. Image (7-5)

This week in the Meineke Car Care Bowl, we will see Georgia Tech and the FIU Panthers do battle in what should be a dozy. GTU are huge favorites, which I believe is a huge oversight on the accomplishments of a solid FIU team that performed well all season long despite injuries, but Corso, Herb, and EA have a strong love affair for the ACC for some reason. The rambling wreck will bring thier 9th ranked rushing offense in the form of the triple option against the #1 Defense in the land in the Panthers. The question will be can the #1 ranked defense of FIU get the panthers enough stops that the offense that has struggled at times put up enough points to win. Tune in and find out.

Vegas Line
GT - 13.5 vs FIU

Predictions:
Corso- GTU
Herb- GTU
Six-FIU

Next advance: Will advance around Wed around Midnight PST / Thur 3am EST

Great write up Six, FIU came out and caused a 3 and out and then marched down the field for a score....7-0. On GT's next possession a fumble at the 50yd line would see FIU recover that (i got a break it wasnt reviewed but it wasnt a fumble) and resulted in a nice drive on the xtra point my analog button didnt engaged resulting in the worst fg attmpt i ve ever seen...haha) 13-0. GT added a fg to make it 13-3. Fast forward, FIU had held a very good rushing attack in check all day GT would finally break a great option run to score, but too little too late, as FIU would keep there distance.

Players of the game:

Frosh QB Halter had 220yds passing
RB Anderson had 25 carries for 139yds.

Great Season.....look forward to the next.

Advance to Bowl Week 3
This week : Full Write Ups to be posted in a few hours.

#10Image (10-3) vs. #6Image (11-1)

This years Suger Bowl will feature the SEC Champs Alabama Crimson Tide and the Sun Belt Champs the Troy Trojans. This is the second BCS Bowl game for the Trojans as 3 seasons ago they finished the regular season undefeated before losing their bowl game to the Cal Bears. This year Troy is considerable underdogs against the big bad crimson tide. The Crimson Tide are not worried about the #2 ranked Defense of Troy, because Troy made its name by playing stifling D against the pass leading to many takeaways, but are only middle of the pack against the run.
Unfortnately for Troy that is the bread and butter of the crimson tide. The Crimson Tide is one player short of the two headed monster they used most of the season as Michael Roach is out for the season, but Nate Berry who led the nation in rushing will be asked to carry the load on his own. Berry stated that he would be more the ready for the challenge. Expect Bama to pound the ball and where down the defense of Troy on their way to a convincing victory.

Vegas Line
Alabama - 10.5 vs Troy

Predictions:
Corso- Troy
Herb- Bama
Six- Bama

Image (7-5) vs. #9Image (11-1)

The Liberty Bowl features two interesting teams this season, The Mountaineers of West Virgina and the Tulane Green Wave. The Green Wave really has not gotten their just do in the press this season, mostly because of the Mid Major conference their in. But dont forget Tulane was at one time ranked #3 in the nation till a loss to the Hokies in the very last game of the regular season, dropping them out of a BCs bowl game. ALL American LB McQueen of WVU will have his hands full with Tulane and their 1st Team All American Sophmore Jermaine Wright who was the second leading rusher going into the Bowl Season. What is more impressive about Jermaine's season is he was not even the starter to begin the year, J. Mo (Fr. Jeremiah Moses) was the starter before going down for the season. The X Factors for todays game will be the play of the Duel Threat QBs of WVU and Tulane, both have amazing speed which makes them very dangerous but are suspect in the passing game, it may be the one who has the bigger game that decides the outcome of the Liberty Bowl

Vegas Line
Tulane - 2.5 vs WVU

Predictions:
Corso- Tulane
Herb- WVU
Six- Tulane

Image

#3 Image (13-0) vs. #5Image (10-2)

Vegas Line
Buffalo - 7.5 vs Georgia

Predictions:
Corso- Buffalo
Herb- Georgia
Six- Painnnnnn

Today was a sad day for Buffalo Bulls Football, despite a 62 -43 victory of the Bulldogs, as it offically marked the end of a glorious 9 years. In Coach Gonzales final game patrolling the sidelines in his customary Ecko Hoody, he watched on as he Seniors played their hearts out one last time, and the young men that he recruited that will remain at Buffalo played with heavy Hearts. Albert Wiley led the charge for Buffalo on their way to 63 points as he had over 300 yards of total offense and 5 Touchdowns, while Sophmore QB Ryan Evans showed why he was a Maxwell and Obrian Winner his Frosh Year by passing for 350 yards and 3 Tds and adding a touchdown on the ground, who now with the departure of Coach G will mull heading to the NFL.

Coach G stated after the game when asked about his tenure in Buffalo " I want to think AD here in Buffalo for the oppertunity i was given as a nobody. It has been a pleasure coaching here, and the support me and my family has gotten has been great. We were able to accomplish a lot of special things here and Buffalo and Buffalo will always be a place I hold dear to the heart. I also wanna think all the special young men that have come through program that have made my job so much easier and made me look like a genius over the years. I have a heavy heart in leaving such a great program with great management and the best fans in the world, but I look forward in to the new beginning and chapter in my coaching career.

When Coach G was asked about Buffalo being left out of the National Title game to defend their title, and whether or not he would lobby for a split in votes for #1 after the BCS champ game. Coach G stated, "I was taught long ago by my mother if I had nothing good to say about something or someone not to say anything at all."

Coach Gonzales 9 Seasons at Buffalo
Wins: 110
Loses: 13
Record vs Top 25: 25-4
Winning Seasons: 8
Longest Streak: 69*
Conference Championships: 6
National Titles: 4

* Record is current NCAA all-time record and is still ongoing.

Next advance: Will advance around Sat around Noon PST / Sat 3pm EST
