defense so much better nowadays......
I just find it hard to believe the offensive talent has surpassed the defensive talent by this much. I know, small sample size.

It's not talent, it's scheme.
See the 3 point shot.

Does anyone have the heart to tell George if these NBA players were playing in the 90s the score would be in the 200s?

Tell that to Charles Oakley or Anthony Mason. I guarantee a team wouldn't score that much with those types of enforcers on teams

Ya Oakley would be stopping the 3s...

You honestly don't think elite athletes of the 90's couldn't cover the guys nowadays?

Not better than elite athletes today.
More to your point, there are a bunch of defensive players today much better than Oakley and Mason, it's really not close.

Illegal defense rules affect the game wayyyyyy more than hand checking.

Nah, I’m sure Bill Lambier would be awesome defending Steph in the pick and roll

Now you're talking about overall defense and schemes.... sure. But just good ole fashion one on one defending, that was huge. Plus the 3 point shot has changed the game so much, you don't see much actual defending much anyhow.

Okay, maybe I was off with the Shawn Kemp comparison. Maybe more like Derek Rose (sorry Billy)
