ESPN moving up the Michael Jordan 10 part Documentary to April 19th!

I cannot wait for this one! I really hope they do a 10 hour marathon so I don't have to wait 10 weeks to watch them all

I think I'd watch it all in 1 day! I know I am in the minority here but I loved 80's and 90's basketball way more than todays game (thought it was better then).

Better rivalries and deeper stories for sure but not a better game imo.

That's why I said I was in the minority here. Maybe the rivalries made it a better game to watch for me.

The 90s were my favorite because that's what I grew up on.

But realistically, it was the worst product on the court, it was pretty awful especially mid to late 90s.

I loved that era more because guys stayed with their teams and it was easier to follow/love a team than it is now with how free agency movement works now compared to then.

Realistically what could the doc tell u that we don’t already know about MJ? Will it tell the truth like him being a drunk womanizing gambler? Or they still gonna lie about flu game?

I hate the 'brotherhood' of today's game. I love Ja Morant's attitude right now. The game needs it.

Agreed on the style of play mostly. Not a fan of the grabbing, clutching and stuff in that period. Never understood the way most offenses worked (maybe I was too young). The only one I ever watched and liked was Utah and anything involving Reggie Miller slicing through defenses.

I don't think today's game is perfect though. My 2 biggest issues being the lack of intense defense (how the game has called as swung this too far the other way) and the blatant traveling/palming. The 2nd part could be just me going all "get off of my lawn" on the game, but I think it's completely different than what I was taught growing up.

it 100% has to go into the gambling piece. I'd be disappointed if it didn't.

I feel like I cared more about the players in the 90s. Now it's more about certain teams. Lebron through the last 10-15 years has been the only player like I remember from the 90s. Zion and Luka are getting to that level for me. But I don't recall wanting to watch a team play more than I've enjoyed watching the Mavs (when healthy) this year. That team pool is deeper than it's ever been as well. There have to be nearly 10 teams that I really enjoy watching play against each other.

documentary will take place over 5 weeks....sooooo sad!

It's kinda odd how I became such a big hoops fan. It has always been easily my favorite sport. Even growing up in South LA where LSU and the Saints are life, and obviously those 2 teams specifically will always be at the top of my list with nothing coming close to them, the NBA is my favorite sport and was even in the 90s when I never had a single team I actually rooted for. Just players in general and matchups, just loved watching.

Makes it easier to watch when you’re not committed to a team. It’s why I love soccer now. I can like individual players and not worry if they transfer or any of that shit.

Same thing here. Nothing within 2hrs. But 3-4 hours I have Chicago, Indiana, Detroit and Cleveland. Never liked the Cavs growing up, but definitely enjoyed having them close enough to see Lebron and other stars come in to play against them.

My playstation and message board name goes back to Shawn Kemp (and a John Grisham book). Always enjoyed Kemp and Payton.

Good point on soccer. I kind of claimed "Manchester United" as my team years back, but don't have that connection that I have to the Browns, Notre Dame or UC basketball. I can watch Chelsea vs Arsenal and root for Chelsea about as much as I do when Man U is playing.

I have teams that I want to see win in the NBA right now, like Dallas and NO, but it's because of the collection of talent on the team and how they play. Maybe we're getting to a point where we might get a lot more of those individual personalities back in the game? Zion, Luka, Ja (he'll need to improve IMO). Durant being Durant, Giannis being isolated in a weak eastern conference, Kawhi being quiet, and AD joining Lebron, all really impact that personal player attachment piece. Lebron and previously Kobe really did carry that standout player torch for awhile.
