Opinions are fine Dole. Lately its the shit over and over and over though. Its almost like some guys arent going to be happy unless there is a rule in place for this or that or unless the 40-40-20 system is changed. Enough already.

If there was anything in my life that caused me this much concern, I'd cut bait.

Yeah I mean it not that big a deal to me either. I think I just come off over aggressive sometimes when talking about things.

This league is great I have said it 1 million times, and I will play any team. Nole just had a thought and I agreed.

Also this is a message board. People are going to discuss things. I just don't like when people say quit bitching when they have given no real opinion on the subject and from what I have seen in this thread no one has been bitching. Now in other threads people have bitched but it kinda comes with the terriotory.

Forgot to send my email in to keep my team...hoping I can draft them again. Once you fall in love with a team wins/losses/ratings don't matter nearly as much, instead you(I) look for ways to tweek your personel(sp?) and strategy to get better from week to week and lets you focus alittle more on your personal triumps. Be it less ints thrown in a season, better rushing game, more TFLs. This, obviously, predicated on actually liking the team you have/get.

agreed suns, instead of worrying where you are drafting maybe focus on the task at hand on building a "dynasty" with the team you already have....that was in my worse Jeffmo voice.

so what else do i need to say...the NDL speaks for itself. i simply stated that the system in place works great and has been for several seasons, thus the quote of peay.

this 1 season a few of you are looking at your individual situation and saying it is not fair. now we need to overhaul the system so you can draft a better team.

you are the one with a problem with the setup. you don't know how it works and it seems you and a few others throw out misconceptions of the point system and complain about issues that don't exist. you're not discussing anything. you are just complaining. like this:

"What the point of a draft if 33% of the leagues gets to keep its the same guys getting the shitty schools and the other getting bad ones."

"I agree people should be able to dynasty. But they better get perfect fucking coachjes reports and have great records. Thats not happening right now."

I think the problem here is not really the point system, but that while we call for a completely sim football game to mimic real life.. That is just not going to happen.

The system we have while not perfect it does overall a pretty good job.

I mean we have to use a process for all teams not just grade one team one way another another.

I think the problem is people forget that the formula for winning in this league is based off letter grade, and the bonuses.. NOt the prestige of the school.

Because some guys are right, unless your name is bobby bowden or joe pa.. you have a few down seasons or lose 3 games constantly every year, even if your winning bowl games and such.. A more prestigest school is gonna say it is time to part ways.. Cause after a while they dont care about just have good seasons and winning games but winning championships. That is just not gonna happen here. So we use the system we have and overall it has done a good job over 15 seasons.
Could it be tweaked maybe.. I personally think we get a little bit more bonus points for certain accomplishments then we probably should as it tends to help greatly when you need to few extra points but that is just me. But I cant really complain I have benefitted for that once. But we didnt have the -1 then.. hehe
But does it need to be tweeked - from the general results over 15 seasons - not as much...
But it is naive to say nothing can be improved.

and I am saying it works great too brocam but you seem to be ignoring that. Something may be great but it can still be tweaked a little am I wrong? Thats all Nole was raising a question of was a small tweak.


as far as what I said I am not going to expound on what I was saying. In your eyes it would be a waste of time for me to articulate anything to you, because it would just be complaining / bitching right? Your not open to hear a diaspora of opinions and then make a judgment. You instead want to always stick with the status quo and act like everything tastes like gumdrops. I am not the one who made the thread I am just agreeing with Nole.

Love the NDL and the system in place like a few have said it has lasted this long and will continue to last because of its well run by every commish that has been in place along with ACTIVE members on a message board all getting to know one another.

I will say it as I do every year, people should not do their coaches reports until a few hours after the game because a lot of members that I have played and used to play fill them out when they are still miffed over a loss and end up docking an owner who plays the game as straight as anyone. The reports are really the only flawed thing in this league but they are def needed.

the easiest way for this to be decided is ala Spreadsheet.

Put in all 120 teams, and the 3 categories (40/40/20)

first set, multiply by .4, .4 and .2 and get your total number.

then the second set, multiply by .35,.35,.3 and see if it changes the numbers.

compare how many teams WOULD have kept their team prior to Bank in comparison to the other.

What other side? Do we all not play by the same rules here and do we not all have the same chances every other coach has here?

One change I wouldnt mind would be coaches being able to use their bank points towards the draft.

I think just about every one of "us dynasty" coaches has been on the other side more than once. The possibility of getting your own team or a great team is why the league works. There are other options for leagues. There are also online dynasties where you can play as a team you want. This league rewards you for doing well, playing straight and participating, and as a result, you can keep your team if you do those things.

I waited 10 seasons patiently for LSU to come open, didn't complain, had fun. Some people leave because they don't get their shot quick enough (see Fogtown or Block M). There will still be enough people who think it's fun. I think being here only 4 or 5 seasons and saying this is premature. I'd say get 5 or so more seasons under your belt, win a BCS conf. title or two with an underdog team and somehow get stuck not drafting high and then I think this complaint becomes a little more valid.
