He is the one that brought it up though and I really never thought about it.
It is not like for arbitration there is any negotiation between us and the players. You put in what you want to offer and they either accept or walk.
So we really were wasting a sim.
Next season, I hope I remember to sim right to the day before arb. Give everyone a day or two to get their stuff setup and then sim through arb. Cut even another day out of it.

I wouldn't like that. Look at the number of teams that have resigned potential free agents during this time. I think how you did it today worked just fine. South Park, NE, Alabama, and Miami have all resigned players. If you take that time away, we don't get the opportunity.

Why wouldn't they? He'd only sim up to the day before arb.

I had coaches and players to negotiate with. I did have a player reject an offer during that time and I wouldn't have time to negotiate again. Instead of doing the fast forward, how about do 2 sims a day? The regular 6am sim and then do an evening one. That way those that want to do things in those sims can, those that don't won't miss anything.

I had a few players that I was negotiating with as well, trying to give them longer deals instead of going through Arb.

Same here. We had expectations of two Sims. I needed to wait to see if I signed Mustang before offering long term deals to two other arb eligible players. I've now lost that chance. Not gonna lie, I'm not thrilled about this. People need to stop trying to rush the process simply because they don't have anything to do. Some of us DO, and we just got screwed a bit.

For what it is worth, I apologize guys.
I was thinking that there was nothing to do until Arb.
I knew a few may be negotiating with players, but didn't understand the full impact.

I will not sim like that again without telling you guys, up front, so everyone knows what to expect.

Plus don't forget those $12m guys who we have to decide if we offer arb, offer a deal, or let walk. We need that time for those as well.

I don't blame you, Niddler. I blame the impatient people who keep pressing you to advance past posted schedule.

You're fine JD. You were just trying to make everyone happy, and none of us can fault you for that. I honestly didn't think anyone would miss anything either, but as Jay and Whitt pointed out there were a few things that mattered. You were just doing what you thought was right.

We'll be more aware of it now and it won't be a problem. You've already done a great job of having quick rollovers
