I figured this would be a good game, and I figured they would come to play after there last game. Regardless of how it turns out, you have to be happy.
And as I'm writing, the secondary gives up another big play.

Re: NCAA Bowl Thread
If they were to lose the only way I'd be happy is if it was on a game winning FG from 60 yards. According to ESPN and all the other SEC homers out there Nebraska wasn't supposed to be able to hang with this team. All you heard was that UGA was 1 play away from the NCG and the Huskers gave up 70 points and 540 yards rushing. GurShall was going to run all over this defense and Murray being the 2nd rated QB in efficiency this wasn't supposed to be a game. They never mentioned that the Huskers led the nation in pass efficiency and allowed only 46% completion rate.buckeye76 wrote:GeorgesGoons wrote:So far the Blackshirts have come to play. Orange Bowl rep to NIU: We didn't even want you here
By Bruce Feldman | Senior College Football Columnist

As if Northern Illinois didn't need any added motivation for its match-up against Florida State on Tuesday night in Miami, the Huskies got a little more. And it comes from an unlikely place: a rant from an Orange Bowl representative towards an NIU staffer.
“You guys [NIU] don't even deserve to be here,” the Orange Bowl rep said to the NIU staffer. “We didn't even want you here.”
According to a source, the exchange took place the other night in a hospitality suite. The Orange Bowl rep had compared NIU to Duke. The NIU rep responded by pointing out that the Huskies, who are riding a 12-game winning streak, have been to bowl games in five consecutive seasons. The conversation escalated from there, the source says.
The 12-1 Huskies' presence in the Orange Bowl has been a sore subject for many from the moment when the BCS Bowl pairings were announced in early December. ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit even called it “a joke” that the Huskies were invited to play in the Orange Bowl. One NIU player responded by heaving an orange at the TV after hearing Herbstreit's comments.
Florida State, which earlier this season did lose to an unranked NC State team, is a 14-point favorite.

Did anybody else see the ref give Michigan that first down? Everybody on the planet could see that the ball was short of the sticks but him.

Re: NCAA Bowl Thread
This is where it is scary as a Husker fan. Nebraska down double digits again in the 4th and Taylor Martinez looking like he wants to make that one play to score 14 points himself. Watch out for a Taylor Martinez fumble.

If you really watched Nebraska football this year you would feel the same way I did about our pass defense. We were lucky the whole year. Receivers made unforced errors/mistakes throughout the whole year against our pass defense that made us look good.GeorgesGoons wrote:So far the Blackshirts have come to play. So he shouldn't play college football and go straight from high school into the nfl? Injuries happen, what do you want the guy to do,not play?trendon wrote:Clowney needs to read this article right now.

Re: NCAA Bowl Thread
Nebraska played tough but like said earlier they do go for big plays on d and it bit them. That has been the Georgia d as well. Good to see that got more disciplined in the 2nd half.
