Re: Demo Thoughts
I've played 4 games now and it seems like it has been tilted heavily in favor of the offense in regards to playing the cpu. The last couple of years, I've always had close games or losses in my first few demo games trying to adjust to the new game and the cpu defense has always dominated early until I got used to the demo. Not this year, I am flying up and down the field in all 4 games. I haven't head to punt once yet. How the offense translates in to playing users it what will be interesting. At least we probably won't be seeing 35-40 interception seasons this year.
My one complaint so far is that being able to direct your passes has made some routes almost to money. I've hit some passes that I'm not sure if there is any defense outside of a great user that could have stopped it. That worries me somewhat.
Overall though, I really like it. I agree with Nole and Block. I like that it seems like the finally just put their heads down and tried to work on a lot of things that were broken instead of trying to put 16 different new and cool things in to the game.
Of course it's just a demo so they will probably screw it all up by the time the game actually comes out.

Re: Demo Thoughts
It had to be varsity based on how easy it was to move the ball.
Re: Demo Thoughts
Demo is always easy... Bad business to make it hard and have people frustrated before buying the game

A little mom and pop store off schrock rd in Columbus will have it.
Re: Demo Thoughts
Finally played it, anyone drawing conclusions from that demo is nuts.
I ran thru Alabama like it was Western Michigan.... Can't be on anything above varsity.
It looks pretty, has a similar feel to last year but seems slightly smoother. That's about all I'm willing to take from it

Re: Demo Thoughts
I'm impressed with this demo, definitely more so than any of the past few versions' demo.
The way players move.
The uppercut move is in the game, never noticed that before.
The catch animations. I've already seen it a handful of times, the WR adjusts at the sideline to make the catch instead of the limited catch animations taking the WR out of bounds as he catches it.
Ball-hawking Safties. The way players locate the ball is awesome to see. Especially a safety who will come from center field to snag a pass at the sideline.
I'm always an optimist because I realize this is a game, and if you want the real thing, you go sign up for your nearest Semi-Pro Football squad. I also realize there will probably be a huge bug like playbooks was on the previous version but I enjoy playing this demo more than the full version of NCAA 12.

I've got it downloaded but haven't messed with it yet. I might give it a shot tonight after the USMNT match.

Re: Demo Thoughts
I played 1 possession, didn't like the zoom on the pass game.
Also, did they change the button to switch to the WR when trying to user? I couldn't switch to the WR for nothing.

We're you playing Heisman? If so you only get to control the QB. Try playing the Dynasty games.

Not sure what I was playing or doing to be honest lol. But in that one possession, I did only pass the ball so yea, I probably was only controlling the QB.
I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.

Re: Demo Thoughts
Loving the game so far. Player seem to move more fluided and a lot of exciting plays. Goal line stand where my LB filed the hole and caused a fumble, diving catches and crushing tackles. Plus the running game seems to get a good push. Defense also seems to react in the passing game and have seen offensive linemen pull and cut block linebackers and end.

Re: Demo Thoughts
I'm liking how when a LB'er tackles a RB they don't drag the defender 2 to 5 yards before going down. It's nice to see a bigger defender actually plant the RB in the ground instead of giving up so many YAC.

Another year, and same feeling.....
Play FIFA, love the realism; go play NCAA and remember "oh yeah, this isn't very good"
