Spitters sputtering
OOTP Did You Know...
The classic "Spitters are sputtering" line is nearly 9 years old. On October 2nd, 2013, a young DRiccio21 muttered the phrase for the 1st time during the 2025 season expressing concerns that GM Trendon Lynch's New York Launch were poised to take over the sputtering Spitters team with 6 weeks left in the season.

Obligatory post before the next green text post.
"This place is dead anyways."
Fire up some convos on slack.
Which has literally killed immersion in the league...

Cool, congrats on your new position as league recruiter. Let me tell you prospective new GMs fucking LOVE the fact that we use technology from the early 2000s and it hasn't turned a single one away. Not one.

We always enjoy whiskey and looks like I might be moving to Alabama in real life so honorary second favorite team is the Alabama Bears

We are struggling with very average teams right now, might be better off leaving the back end starters in there

Honestly if Slack was organized with topics, it would make sense to move to slack completely. But since Im the new recruiter I give the league 2 days to survive because I already resign from that position

This is something I can 100% do but have been hesitant to. Polls channel went over like a lead balloon. I will say this, if the day comes we move to Slack I will organize the fuck out of it. People know how anal I am and I more than happy to work with anyone who wants specific channels etc.
I truly understand how important the forums are to a lot of the OGs. From the looks of it, this forum is still hella active in a lot of other categories and me advocating for Slack doesn't mean you guys wouldn't still post on the forums. I'm not saying kill the forums, just for OOTP lol. Anyway, this fight has already been had multiple times and the outcome is the same. If we move we probably lose 3-5 GMs. I'm not comfortable with that because we already have trouble filling as is. And I'd rather have an alive league on both platforms than a completely dead one on one.
Rant over. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

if it can't be decided if it is a Slack or forum league, where does it leave it? Is it at a foldable level? It is the vibe I am getting. It is like I am talking to dead air in either. Or boot me or something.

there isn't a decision to be made. nothing is wrong other than people enjoy fear mongering.
just about everyone exports their files on a regular basis and has for like 10 years. we have a solid commish and a solid core of active owners.
save the fears of demise for when we have a shitty/no commish and tons of guys not exporting and nobody on either slack or boards.
if you want to chat on forums, make yourself at home and engage with people. if you want to interact on slack, make yourself at home and engage with people.
