I don't know who the bigger pussies are, baseball players or basketball players.
They slap hands and bump chests and I don't think 1 punch was thrown.

Basketball, hands down. Baseball doesn't attach and thrive off of the urban image, have as much size in the league, nor postulates the tough-guy image like basketball does.

what does the 'urban image' have to do with how tough someone is/isn't or how you percieve their toughness?
Roy Hibbert and Steph Curry got into a fight last night.... ROY HIBBERT AND STEPH CURRY. Trendon is more 'urban' than those dudes.

I think he's trying to say big bad dudes, tatted up, acting hardcore and then slapping hands and chest bumping versus throwing punches "like a man"

I have to agree. Even in "non-sanctioned" arenas like 3-on-3 tournaments and the like, most of the "fights" I've seen are like last night's fracas or are hit and runs; one guy sucker punches another and runs and hides in one way or another. I've got a nice scar above my right eye because of a punk pulling a hit and run on me at a 3-on-3 tourney. This guy was talking non-stop all day. We played his team and got up big on them and he was clearly getting frustrated. I got switched off on him, he crossed me over and pulled up for a jumper, I got a piece of the shot, and before the ball had even hit the ground he sucker punches me and runs out of the gym. I mean he literally hit and ran. Anyway, back to the original point, most basketball "fights" are all posturing or slapping. All it takes is one Ron Artest or Yancy Gates to change that though.

i'm not saying basketball fights aren't pussy fights. most fights that don't include trained figters are 'pussy fights'.
if most of us in here got into a spur of the moment brawl, we'd look alot more like a wacky waving inflatable tube man than we would Roy Jones.
i was more interested in Trendon's perception of the NBA as 'urban' and 'fake tough'. i'd bet if we went thru every roster there are more pretty boy dorks like D Wade, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Lebron than there are 'fake tough guys' like Artest and JR Smith.

Are you saying that basketball does NOT thrive off of the urban image, moreso than compared to baseball?

of course it does. i'm not saying that at all.
i'm saying our peception of what 'urban' means is based on ignorant and often times racist beliefs.
i don't think NBA players are any more 'tough guys' than MLB players or NHL players or MLS players.

yes that was my intention. trying to cut to the chase. and its only foolish because people get uncomfortable when talking about stereotypes.
i'd bet a fair amount of money that NHL players, on average, get into far more bar fights and outside the sport altercations than NBA players. but there is no perception of NHL players being thugs. just 'hard nosed tough guys'
