Texas will be blue in 2-3 years is my guess.
Maybe sooner.
Maybe sooner.
Not only that, but because we don't elect on popular vote, candidates don't campaign for the popular vote.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:10 pm As far as winning the popular vote...who cares. That's not how our constitution was wrote. It's a good thing SF, LA, Chicago, NYC, Seattle, Portland and Denver don't decide the elections. (caveat, not sure if those cities have enough to outweigh the rest of the country but I believe you are smart enough to get the idea, the top 10-15 democratic cities in population should not control the country)
The popular vote is a horrible idea unless your political views align with the 5-10 biggest cities in the US. That leaves out so many people without a say in how our government works. What works in NYC/LA/SF does not work in KC/Omaha/Indianapolis.jeheinz72 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 11:53 amNot only that, but because we don't elect on popular vote, candidates don't campaign for the popular vote.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:10 pm As far as winning the popular vote...who cares. It's like a baseball team losing the game but saying "Yeah but we had more hits". Hits are good and can help win the game, but they aren't the point of the game. If they were the point of the game, players would completely change how they played the game.
Hopefully longer
I think the anti-gay part of the republican party is pretty small, and very old. Once the blue hairs dies off you'll see a more tolerant republican party that'll be more accepting of gays and weed friendly. The abortion part may never change in their view, but at the same time the abortion part of the law will never change either. I am pro-life but I don't think it's for me to judge someones moral character if they decided on having one. So does that make me partially pro-choice?!?Crowes wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 1:24 pmHopefully longer![]()
Or at least till reigns prediction comes true of the democratic party splitting up. Even after I cant see moderate Dems forming a majority with the current republican party there would have to be huge changes to them as well. Ditching the crazy abortion, anti gay and religious parts of the party would get the ball rolling tho...![]()

There isn't a mathematical possibility with the electorate if Texas flips. There would be 132 electoral votes in Texas, Cali, New York and Illinois alone.shel311 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 3:41 pmGeorge said he sees Crowes' 50 years and raises him to forever!!!GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 3:05 pm If/when Texas turns there is not a chance in hell the republicans will ever take the white house again
The only saving factor might be actually the work-from-home situation so many have been put in this year. While many will still want that big-city life regardless, many will flee them once they can make the big money while not having to step over human poo to go get their avocado toast.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 3:59 pmThere isn't a mathematical possibility with the electorate if Texas flips. Very true, one thing the pandemic has shown companies is that they can do a lot more remote work for their employees, which saves them a butt load of money. But what demographic is leaving those big cities? Will it be mostly democrats fleeing the large taxes a lot of them carry? If that's the case then Republicans will never see the whitehouse when that happensjeheinz72 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 4:51 pmThe only saving factor might be actually the work-from-home situation so many have been put in this year.
