3 dudes having a full dude weekend exploring the college towns and the traditions. We have been doing it for about 4 years now and it’s a blast.

i'm like 6 or 7 years deep with my miami buddies. we've done FSU, Texas, Clemson, UGA, UF, LSU, ND and this year doing the A&M vs Miami game.

we go out on a thursday or friday morning and stay in the closest big city if one is nearby (Chicago for ND, New Orleans for LSU etc), play golf at the best courses we can muster up connections to get on and then go to dinners in the area then tailgate on game day and fly out first thing sunday morning.

definitely one of my favorite weekends every year.

highly recommend. its just as fun to look over the schedule and debate which game to go check out the following year as it is to go.

This is some of the best parts of it as its a discussion around beers all year long leading up to football season deciding on the spot.

As we talked, I will see ya in College Station as thats a Cal-Dad trip after his experience seeing Bama destroy us last year in ATL. Hoping it goes a bit better.

Now reporting that it's essentially a done deal.

This is too weird.

2 20+ team conferences is the rumor

Just got off the phone with someone who believes this eventually leads to two megaconferences — the Big Ten and SEC — with 20 or more members apiece.

Years ago, I imagined that we'd ultimately have 4 super conferences of 16 each and they'd breakaway from the rest of the D1 schools to have their own 4 team national championship. SEC, ACC, Big 10 and PAC 12. I feel like 64 teams is a solid collection. 2 conferences, of let's say 24 each, seems like there's some really good programs left out. (Thinking across Football and Basketball)

My Louisiana education is questioning this math

4 conferences of 16 teams each, could have them into 2 divisions of 8 teams each.

You split that quote up in a strange way.

64 teams was related to the 4 conferences of 16 each.

2 conferences of 24 each relates to what it's looking like with the SEC/Big10 down the road/the previous quote, and that's why I said some pretty good programs get left out.

This is what I always assumed would happen and we’d essentially be going full circle. In the SEC you might call one division the Southern Conference and the other the Southwest Conference for example.

Magically we end up right back where we were 30 years ago but with a playoff system in place now.

We had 10 game iterations and then 8-9 years of no game, I bet Devine isn’t the only one if we dig deep enough.

He missed us by a couple of games, but 2000 Heisman winner Weinke can probably pull AARP discounts these days 🤣
