This NBA season is dumb.
And so is this new shot clock thing. I We can't see the shot clock in the 2 other locations on the screen... We really need that 3rd clock at the free throw line?

I was trying to figure out what you were talking about on the shit clock but finally I saw it at the end of the 1st on the LA game. I will say I do not see a third shot clock though, the one on the free throw line and the one on the score box, that's all I see. But I agree, the one at the freethrow line is dumb.

Stayed up way too late last night, i'm too old.
I have serious concerns about the Lakers...which makes me very happy.

going to be hard to analyze them until march or so
they likely won't look anything like this current team come playoffs outside of the core nucleus
as constructed they aren't very dangerous imo

Do they make the playoffs? I don't they they are more than a #5 seed currently. And God forbid AD gets hurt, LeBron cannot carry this current team to the playoffs

At a much younger age. I'll just ignore that you called him the best player ever, you obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and did not have your coffee

Jordan did take some pretty terrible teams to the playoffs

feels so good to have the NBA back, its really amazing how happy it makes me.
Heat played solid last night vs a pretty bad Grizz.
- Butler didn't play for personal reasons. allowed the ball to move around more freely and let lots of dudes got involved with Winslow dominating usage (27 7 and 7)
- they really were out to negate Herro ability to catch and shoot. they chased over screens, helped and switched. kind of amazing they gave that much attention to an unproven rookie but goes to show what respect guys have for his shooting. he only had 1 three and it was in garbage time
- Kendrick Nunn is a bulldog. dude just attacks and is out to prove something. he seems a little sporadic at times but he put up 40 in the preseason finale and 24 in the opener. he probably loses the most when Butler comes back but its always amazing to me how many talented people exist in this world that can do that and yet teams still throw out retreads over and over rather than give new guys opportunity.
- Heat shot 85% from the FT line. if they do that they will be firmly in playoffs. they have been horrendous last few years at line.
- Dragic is a serious 6th man of the year contender. this role is perfect for him. hes a true professional player who is probably a touch too old/slow/fragile to still be out there with 1st unit and demanding usage but he's way more disciplined and savvy than dudes in 2nd units and he dominated when he was looking for his shot.
- Heat played like 10 or 11 dudes last night, i despise when teams run out that many guys. probably my biggest criticism of Spo but its only the first game. hopefully they get down to 8 or 9 at some point if they want to seriously contend for a good playoff seed.
if they lose the next 8 in a row this will probably be the last update you get from me... but i'm excited! LETS GO HEAT

Atta boy!!
They were really fun to watch last night and I was thinking the same thing on how much attention our boy was getting in his first NBA start.
The free throw attempts and them actually making them will be a huge plus to this squad on how they attacked and were moving the ball last night. Lets see what Jimmy does to this.
DJones almost killed a guy last night for one of his sporadic bursts.
Fun!!

Even with all of the big pairings, is the NBA at the deepest/most competitive that we've ever seen it? It's definitely the most exciting to me. Even many "below average" teams are fun to watch play each other.

Pels went from zero depth for years to having to many guys who can play minutes.
They played 12 guys in the 1st 15 minutes, all 12 guys got double digit minutes. Hated it.
