I'm telling you it's not. I don't need to refute it. Her point can be valid or invalid, it doesn't matter to me. As much as you want to claim it's a 'whataboutism' then try to force a definition, it's not.

A.) Her point is valid and "people watch in horror as kids are thrown in cages." So who has thrown the kinds in cages? ICE, Trump, and Obama would be the common answers. Who built the cages? Obama. Sounds like her husband is a real asshole.
B.) Her point is not valid and she's seriously exaggerating what is going on. Seems kind of dumb to choose to exaggerate this point, when it's going to come back to your husband.

Once you learn how American politics work you should step aside. But to make it simple for you...the federal government cannot go into a state or city without the states request unless federal property is being threatened. Think of the debacle of Katrina, the federal government couldn't go in without the mayor asking the state for help and the state asking for the fed for help. It sucks in that situation but it keeps federal government overreach into affairs that do not run in their jurisdiction
