im pretty sour the Raps couldnt pull off a JV/1/+ deal for Cousins. but from what my knowledgeable ball friends say, this isnt a huge improvement for NO

One thing you are overlooking is they both play on shitty teams and their usage rates may be a reflection of that. They have to do it. Davis has always been unselfish, they are both good passers who can handle the ball and stretch the floor. I think they will play very well together..... on offense anyways. Good luck trying to get either to defend

Cousins is a good passer, AD hasn't really developed his passing as well as he could have to this point I think.

Most of the advanced stats people rate them both as below average defenders. With Cousins nobody knows because the circus he has played with his entire career. Davis blocks shots but the consistent effort and discipline is lacking. Not that uncommon for young bigs who have never played on winners. Hopefully they bring the best out of each other

Report: Thomas didn't encourage Celtics to go after Cousins

However, the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett reported Monday that former Cousins teammate Isaiah Thomas wasn't exactly encouraging to Celtics brass about such a move. From Bulpett:

The lack of a push on Cousins from the Celtics may be revealing in itself. There was a time when sources insisted the Celts found him appealing, but not to the degree where they'd give up either of the first-rounders owed them by Brooklyn. Now it's fair to infer that the scouting report the C's got from Isaiah Thomas on his former teammate was not encouraging for his fit here. In fact, sources have indicated that to be the case.
