I root for Creighton in baseball as well. But, I root for both teams...just if they play each other I always go for Creighton.sixpackdan101 wrote:So am I. I just take issue with Husker football fanatics that conveniently root for Creighton in basketball.GeorgesGoons wrote:From Omaha so I always root for Creighton firstsixpackdan101 wrote:Jaysker scum!!!!!GeorgesGoons wrote:I hope they win their first game and Creighton destroys them in the round of 32. Strange even talking about basketball in Nebraska when it's not in regards to Creighton.

Stick with your pick Nick. Veteran Coach who is going to run them to run them to death. Bad match up for SF.nick wrote:i got VCU winning.. why do i feel like thats a bad idea?

Talking with people and looking at different predictions, its almost safe to say Wichita State is a 'sleeper' at this point

I think if they had gotten any of the other 8/9 games in the second round they'd be a shoo-in for the Sweet 16. But with the way Kentucky has been playing of late, their athleticism, and Wichita not having really been tested by athletes of that type in... forever, I don't think the Shockers are getting out of the first weekend.Weasel wrote:Talking with people and looking at different predictions, its almost safe to say Wichita State is a 'sleeper' at this point

I read an article how the committee did everything it could to try and derail Wicha's title chances with the teams they put in there side. Kentuckee in the 2nd Rd, UL in the Sweet 16, and Michigan/Duke await for the elite 8 game.LetsGoPeay wrote:I think if they had gotten any of the 8/9 games in the second round they'd be a shoo-in for the Sweet 16. The Louisville game will be in Indy too, just like a home game for them.buckeye76 wrote:I read an article how the committee did everything it could to try and derail Wicha's title chances with the teams they put in there side. If they can get thru that potential slate of games they will do good in the final 4 and championship game. I did pick them to lose against Kentucky in the second round.

That's assuming we beat Kansas State. And that's not a joke.
And if they do get past us/Kansas State, I don't think they get past UofL. UofL's seen them, they've got an idea of how to beat them, and Russ Smith might be the hottest player in the nation right now (that said, I'm so tired of that stupid nickname)

Not only a great hire by Auburn and for the SEC, but now he still gets to wear the orange blazer. Win/win.

The game vs UK/Kansas State is in St Louis. Within five hour drive for both fan bases. UK fans went en masse to Atlanta last weekend, same distance.
The committee apparently went for "geography". So the midwest region will probably be the toughest every year going forward (Kansas, Mich St, UK, UofL, etc)

My point was that Witchita St is pretty much playing teams the whole way where the other team's fanbase can easily reach it. That rarely happens.

Caucasian please. K-State is a Bruce Weber production. I'd take Air Bud, Ollie from Hoosiers, and three small children over a Bruce Weber team in the tournament. Give him a couple more years to recruit and they'll be booting his ass out of Manhattan just like in Illinois.jsence2 wrote:LetsGoPeay wrote:I think if they had gotten any of the 8/9 games in the second round they'd be a shoo-in for the Sweet 16. We lost at home to Arkansas. Arkansas, the same team that didn't win a road game for like a year and a half.
We lost on the road to a horrible SC team.
We could lose to Kansas State.
