Republicans crying about how the world is coming to an end, Democrats celebrating about how Obama won so suck it Republicans, and nobody talking about how we can now work together to make this nation better.
And I cant' wait to hear the Republican leaders (Mitch McConnell please step up) talk about how they will spend the next four years fighting Obama and making sure he accomplishes nothing.....which means four more years of absolutely nothing getting done.
Btw, how scary is it that Krazy Karl Rove was helping run this country for 8 years??? I knew the man was an absolutely insane idiot, but dear God....this is half comedy and half "THIS GUY was running things behind the scenes for eight years?!?!?!"
I have republican friends who acknowledge the victory without bad mouthing anyone. The only thing I said negative about Baseball Glove is he should have cared more about that other 47%

People are such idiots.

I agree shel. I feel like there are a bunch of people that view politics/government and religion in black and white. Many are pissed that you don't agree with their way of thinking. Others are mad you see gray and fall in the middle. Like this is a personal game. Just one of those topics that will bring out the absolute worst in people. I actually enjoy the constructive back and forth that Dave, jsence, George, and Oracle have with others in here. Nothing wrong with hearing another perspective even if you don't agree. At best, your eyes may be open to flaws, other issues they may not be obvious, or you can at least understand their reasoning. At worst, you respectively agree to disagree.
Then there is an entirely different set of people that have no idea on lower issues. Had some props on our ballot and I was volunteering at the polling site. With how easily information (at least general is available on both sides), so many people were uninformed. Had students and older people asking me both what I knew about the propositions and how I voted because they wanted to vote the same.
And one other thing while I'm ranting. May sound insensitive so I apologize. It really bothers the hell out of me that, as a black man myself, that so many in the black community have ONLY voted the past two elections because a black man was running. Granted I'm from a different time period and have a different way of thinking, but it really bothers me. That would be like me voting for Hilary just because she was a woman. Or me voting for a member of the LGBT community just because they come from that background. It just is hard for me to take some people serious when they complain on and on about how things have been, yet you never felt it necessary to vote in the past.
Shelnotes
Agree that people and politics can't go together in the general public
Was letdown by how many people had no idea about any of the state/local issues
Wish some people were voting for the right reason, not because of race

An "I agree with Shel" AND "Shelnotes" in 1 post.
Doesn't get much better than that for me.

I was looking forward to seeing if Romney can keep up this amazing hair for the next 4 years under the stress of office.
There goes that

Today's annoying FB posts are all the ones I see saying Americans(republicans or just people who disapprove of Obama) are "sheep" and blah blah blah cause Obama was re-elected. I think that digs into a deeper American issue, accountability. No one every wants to be accountable, they always want to blame other people and say they're the dumb ones.
So, people just blindly, sheepishly if you will, say Americans are sheeps while at no point recognizing what Obama being elected again means, which is how crappy must the other party be to not be able to beat that guy who you think is so terrible?
Just so annoying lol.

Sheep = People that vote party lines without learning facts. (goes both ways)
Sheep = African American's that voted for the sole reason that he's black. (94% of AA voted Obama... did I read that right?)
Sheep = Many of our youth (18-29) that aren't well versed on all of the issues.
At the same time, using blanket statements is never good. Everyone that voted Obama isn't an 'idiot' in my book. They may have some issues that they feel very strongly about that he supports, which Mitt doesn't. They may feel those are more important than other issues, like the economy (my perspective that Mitt far exceeds Obama on this). They are all entitled to vote. But sheep exist, on both sides, there's no question.

No, it was that way early til California polls closed and started counting. Obama ended up beating Romney 60 Million to 57.3 Million.

I think Shel has it right, most people dont have accountability for their actions anymore. I didnt vote for Obama simply because in his first 4 years not much changed in my eyes. He could have been any skin color or any party. He simply did not make the country better and I wanted a change that was it. Whether Obama is gonna be awesome or kill us in the next 4 years I have no idea. All we can do now is hope the next four years are better than the last 4. Also I do understand that the president doesnt control the economy so hes not to blame for everything I was just speaking in general terms.

I listened to Rush on lunch for pure entertainment value.
Everyone who voted for Obama was "choosing Santa Clause, rather than being their own Santa Clause"
I work hard for what I have. Fuck Rush and fuck anybody who believes that bullshit. Not everyone who voted for Obama was looking for a handout.

If its just going to make you so upset why do you listen to it? You bitch a lot for a guy who's guy just got elected.

My boss told me today that this may have been the last election the US ever has.
Me: why?
Him: Obama and his Muslim friends have a plan to strip our freedoms and take over.
Me: dictatorship?
Him: Yes, haven’t you seen how Muslim countries operate.
Me: I thought he was Christian and not Muslim
Him: Oh, he’s no Christian man. Christians don’t act like he does.
Me: <<awkward silence>>

of all the issues and mudslinging that has gone on the past year about Obama, the one that fascinates me the most is the Muslim thing.
just for arguments sake, assuming he really was muslim, are people that ignorant that they think just bc someone is muslim that they are a bad person. isn't the whole freedom of religion thing one of the foundations that our country was built on?

A budget would be nice. Might be too much to ask for though.

They haven't passed a budget in three years. 1288 days. The Constitution requires a budget be passed. Big O's last budget was voted down 97-0 in the Senate. Got a majority and cant even get one person on his side to vote for it.
