While this isn't as absurd as your previous work, it's highly misleading. It looks incredibly bad to run it as a headline, so of course that's what we're going to see right now. There are tons of different reasons why that 32.9% shouldn't be thrown about, but the 1 reason why it should (make the president look bad) is why it's going to be out there.

It's almost freaking me out, to see how freaked out people are getting over some of this stuff. That thread is a classic example.

I had a personal situation this afternoon with my wife that had me really heated. I've mentioned it before, but she's an LSW, and all for social support and loving people. So of course, her circle of friends are quite liberal as well. We'd already decided that we were sending our kids back to school and this afternoon she told me that she's reconsidering it. She said that "all of the people she's talked to" are doing the online option. So I had her list every person that she's talked to. I had her tell me why they were going online, if they had a reason. She left the house and was taking my oldest to the doc for a physical, so for the next hour, I completely bombarded her messenger with raw data. % of cases, hospitalizations, ICU cases, deaths... all by age... for the US, for Ohio. I simplified it and showed her for every 1 case, hospital, ICU, and death, how many people there are (easy way to see your ration/likelihood). She's tracked pretty well with the data throughout, due to how close I've been to it. But when she brought that up to me this afternoon, I was sooooo disappointed.

I may have misunderstood what Reign posted about the GDP. But wasn't it actually 10% and they are projecting to be 32% at the current rate at the end of the year? But I probably misunderstood that whole post

I have no idea what you're talking about in terms of quoting myself 3 times. When you say "I made a post and you clearly can't let it sit," what are you referring to? If it's your post about 32.9%, I responded because you post came off as you trying to be witty, when it was really just misleading. If you're referring to the reference to your shitty math, you're the one that brought up your knack for sucking at math, not me. So point that finger at yourself.

If my post helped 1 person understand how GDP is stated and how that 32.9% is calculated, then that's a success.

It’s a little more complicated than that. In the U.S., GDP is reported as an annualized rate, as mentioned above — and this phrase is doing a lot of lifting here. Because the GDP is a measure of value produced over a year, when the percent change is reported each quarter, it’s a forecast of what the growth or shrink would be if this quarterly rate persisted for the whole year. It’s not exactly multiplying the quarterly rate by four, because there are other factors involved, but that’s an easy way of roughly visualizing what the annualized rate is. Doing this can be useful for comparing changes in the GDP over a longer time frame — when there isn’t an extremely unusual event shaking up the economy.

You not responding is better for you than it is for me, so smart move on your part.

I've said it many times, if I'm wrong, I'll own it. I do my best to vet information and if I'm not sure, I'll open say that I'm not sure. One of the most important things you can do is be honest about what you don't know.

Since I post so much and so many long-winded things, it should create a tremendous amount of opportunities for me to be wrong. But instead of providing a valid argument, you've spent the last few weeks in a constant state of hate.

I still post here because I enjoy the banter, I've grown to know a lot about many of the guys here over the years and I wish the best for all of them, regardless of their political leanings. If Corey was traveling in the area, needed something and called/texted me, I'd be right there to help him, no questions asked. He and I tend to disagree on quite a bit. That same thought goes for anyone... likely even to you.

I've paused a few times typing this, because this is the kind of conversation that I've had to have with very few people... What is the fundamental difference between Absentee voting vs Mail-in voting? Washington State has 100% Mail-in voting since 2011 I believe and Kim Wyman (R) has been very open to the successes of the states process and security.

Will the election be delayed?!?

Election should 100% not be delayed as we stand right now. I love mail in voting, I know not very republican of me. But I can see with how charged the political atmosphere is right now there could be some very small pockets of tampering invalid votes getting counted. Look at how bad the election (or primary) is being handled right now in New York. No postage stamp saying when the vote was mailed in is a prime example of how there could be some tampering in a close election. With how inefficient our government works as a whole does anyone really think mail in voting will be successful in municipalities that normally doesn't have this option?
