LA who?
Interesting, the Mavs apparently had both the regular cap room or a trade exemption to make it happen. Saw something that said Olynk and Derrick Jones insteadshel311 wrote:Looks like Dragic is now not going to the Mavs.
It was reported by Matt Barnes... Yea that Matt Barnes.Cnasty wrote:Do these Beal to Miami rumors hold any weight at all?
Yeah, I mean Miami has legit zero assets really to even get the Wiz on the phone.shel311 wrote:It was reported by Matt Barnes... Yea that Matt Barnes.Cnasty wrote:Do these Beal to Miami rumors hold any weight at all?
I don't see what Miami could possibly give up that would top the Pels, who tried to get him 2 weeks ago.
Sources: Golden State and Brooklyn are close to a D'Angelo Russell sign-and-trade deal to the Warriors.
The Mavericks maintain they agreed to join the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade under the belief they were getting Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr., league sources say. The Heat reportedly do not want to surrender Jones and say they must trade Goran Dragic to make the cap math work
if Dallas and Miami can't sort out the $1.7 million missing from this trade on the Heat end, Miami would presumably have to find a new trade home for Dragic to preserve the trade construction it prefers
Golden State and Brooklyn have agreed on a sign-and-trade, sending D’Angelo Russell to the Warriors on a four-year, $117M maximum contract, league sources tell ESPN.
One thought would be If all parties know the deal is done then waiting allows them to cripple some of the other teams who still think they may be involved who aren’t making moves til that shoe drops ... like the Clips.nick wrote:this is gonna take a few days.. but i mean he forced his hand out of SA to play with the Lakers..how come this wasnt instant like KD to brooklyn?

It’s a slight risk to Kawhi if he plays that card and some last second shenanigans happen and Lakers back out but in this hypothetical you’d assume that everyone has been comfortable with this outcome for a while

I need to better understand what their options were but he is the epitome of fools gold. He had 3rd highest usage in entire nba last year behind Harden and Westbrook. His raw numbers seem impressive but when you consider the raw numbers of dudes who had ball similar amount of time it’s pretty anemic and it was inefficient production. To his credit, he has improved and is still young enough to continue to grow but unless they have a supporting cast around him figured out and this was basically him or nothing (and wasted space) I just don’t get the move at all
That would be a smart play by GS, get a guy with trade value in return, then as soon as they can trade him, make another move."De'Angelo Russell does not fit there whatsoever. They just did not want to see Kevin Durant walk out the door with no compensation. ... They will trade him. It's just a matter of when." - @TheSteinLine on @dpshow
