They saw the success of The Tiger King series and wanted a piece of that pie. I'm pretty ok with Seattle just turning into an autonomous zone. Between them and whatever crazy concept Minneapolis is going to come up with, it should be fun to watch.

I'm guessing no because laws aren't always logical, but it would seem like any business in that 6 block area or whatever it is should be able to sue the city and win. Their business is being effected(understatement) for a prolonged time and the city/state is not even trying to do anything about it.
It's pretty mindbottling to me that they're just letting them have a piece of the city for obvious reasons, but especially since it's not like this will last forever, they will obviously have to deal with it at some point, so why not right away? The longer you wait the more incompetent you look and more expensive it'll be to build everything back. What's the advantage to waiting it out?

Maybe 3 of these people will genuinely do anything different in their life over the next couple of weeks. Maybe 1 remains genuinely different after a year. Complete trash in my book. So many sellouts and egomaniacs in the entertainment industry.

Had an interesting conversation last Fri or Sat with 4 guys that I run 2k with. Bigger threat / influence in regards to racism... Billy Bob with his confederate flag and white hood... or a liberal Karen? The opinion was 4-1 at the start, finished 5-0. Better the devil you know.

Couldn't even tell you who more than 2 of those people were. But then again, I don't follow entertainment stars very much. Wonder how many of them knew Harvey and what he was doing during his time and still did nothing. It's always easy to get up in front of a camera in the comfort of your own home and talk, but when it comes to walking the walk these "stars" are usually home still trying to figure out how to put on their walking shoes.

The Seattle thing is CRAZY! I say shut off the water and electricity to those 6 blocks and wait them out. Let them turn themselves in once they can't take life without all those comforts that they enjoy.
I also read that people were getting food for free in that area, businesses not allowed to charge. Is that true?

What? Is there reports of them dragging people into the street and killing them or something? The mayor has said this is in no way so far a threat to the public. The police have said all the reports of anything illegal happening ie extorting businesses are just anecdotal and there's no real evidence of it.

So if me and 300 of my friends wanted to take over your house and your neighborhood and make it our autonomous zone, you would have no problem with us doing that and you would tell your city no worries and no need to rush and try to get your property back because it's allegedly not a threat to the public, correct?

No one seems to have a problem with the looting and burning and taking over shit when it's other people's properties. This reminds me of that NFL reporter who tweeted a pic of a burning building and said "Burn it all down." Then 1 week later rioters were trying to breach the gates of his sister's neighborhood and burned a Starbucks near his house and he called them animals and told them to go back to where they live

How do you not see the problem here? The comments from small business owners in the area are out there. That is the 'anecdotal' stuff that is referenced in one your links. Do you think the Seattle PD just woke up and decided to recant the statement?
