Unless theyre super special players (Villa, Diaz i believe), Miami never calls anyone up before Rule 5 eligible. Even have a tab saved so I check it once every offseason starts. Must suck for the older ones who are like 24 when they get a chance at the pros but hey. it works.

That said I dont think he'll lose a year of service if hes called up after a certain date like the MLB. Not 100% sure but I think so.

He doesn’t, still get 6 full years if you call them up after 3 weeks in to the season.

Now if Ryan is saying he should wait until the end of next April then yeah, it is costing you but I never really play it that way

Calling them up before anywhere near the end of June opens them up to being Arb eligible a year earlier. I was just messing with George but I'm with Nick, I don't like to waste any service time at all cause I'm always up against it money wise.
