Three years ago, I bought Battlefield 3. I loved Modern Warfare 2 more than anything and hated Black Ops even though I had to pay more than $100 for it in Costa Rica. I am sure you could search for me bitching and bitching and bitching about Black Ops, my number one complaint being the sound design. I had heard people - like Hollywood here on these forums - telling us how much of a fool I was for playing Call of Duty instead of Battlefield 2 or Band of Brothers. I had dealt with that shit years ago when I would be playing Duke Nuke 3D and Quake and being told I was a fool because I wasn't playing the "more realistic" Rainbow Six or Tribes.

So, here I am with a copy of Battlefield 3 one week before Modern Warfare 3 hit the shelves. I hated it and joked about how I paid to rent Battlefield for sixty bucks. I was right back at Gamestop a week later to buy Modern Warfare 3. By day two or so, I couldn't fucking believe how wrong I was and never looked back. Call of Duty gave me three of the best gaming years of my life (MW, WaW, and MW2) but that is done. So, I am going to say something and I wish you could hear the tone in my voice so you don't get to thinking that I am being a dick or sarcastic. I mean this seriously.

Don't buy the game. Don't even bother.

You won't like it because you can't. I was about to start typing exactly why you won't like the game, but I figured you'd stop reading just about now either because you've found closure or because you want to get huffy and tell me to get off my sanctimonious soapbox. Either way, I'd understand. But, that doesn't change my point: don't buy the fucking game. It will just waste your time, right or wrong.

I just think you are missing out. C'est la vie.

Anyone who told you to play Rainbow 6 over Quake should have been assaulted.

I hear you Trendon. Don't get me wrong, call of duty is getting stale. My statements aren't a pro COD.

I'll still play BF once in while. Jsence is just over the top.

The facts are you can play a 25 minute BF game and finish 9 - 6 . There is very little gunplay . This is no bullshit, the other night shiftnb was on the other team. I die. It shows who killed you as you know. I can't see anyone . I look closer, shift is laying on the side of a mountain at least a "mile" away....

Sniping someone over 400m, especially if you were moving, takes a ton of skill. That's actually a quite impressive kill.

You keep complaining about a lack of gunplay, I am not sure how you're running into that. I honestly don't.

I'm sure Trendon, shift, and anybody else who plays isn't sure how you get that either. Sure, compared to COD you won't see a guy every ten seconds. But when I go to capture an important point, I'm getting in gunfights often. Some maps have more than others. But if you play Zavod, Hainan, Parcel Storm, Dawnbreaker, and you aren't getting gunfights then I would say just give yourself more time to get accustomed to the maps.

Or play Rush, it may be a mode you enjoy more than conquest. It is similar to Demolition. Tons of close quarter fighting w fewer vehicles

To be fair, you've played with me and I've never finished with numbers like those. A lot of people do though. Jsence can't defend that though. I can't imagine how someone can sit in an AA for literally 25 minutes straight.

I kill 0.7 people a minute and I don't use vehicles that much. I have 5,240 kills and 1,957 came from my top 5 guns and I've used about 100 guns; rough guess is 60% of my kills come from a gun. I fire 543 rounds per match and if you figure each match to be twenty minutes that's basically a clip a minute. I'm shooting at someone!

Oh look at this gay shit!

I lost that much SKILL even though no game was played because there wasn't enough people in it. BS!

Well, look what I found. AJ will love this.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/ba ... 04/418490/

MPFSU went 33-0. All 33 kills were in the attack boat. LOL

What's funny is I can get one kill max in that fucking thing before getting annihilated. It is one of the few assignments I have left because I cannot get Watercraft Ribbons with any success.

As someone who likes to fly, there is little more infuriating than someone who has the anti-aircraft....and doesn't shoot down the aircraft.

I'm not just sitting there doing nothing. There's a reason I'm usually near the top of the entire team when I'm in the AA--I'm taking down aircraft, I'm taking out boats, I'm spotting people/tanks/boats, I'm giving suppressive fire, and I'm helping to control a large portion of the map.

And to judge someone's play simply by their K/D isn't always fair. A game last night, I had 2 kills and 3 deaths--because I spent a large majority of the match flying a MAV, helping find the snipers who we couldn't get off of our spawn or A/B, taking out their spawn beacons, and providing the helicopters with an idea of who was where. Same thing for someone who flies the transport heli--he may have a low K/D, but how many points did he capture, how many kills did his passengers rack up?

I'll say it again--if you want just gunfighting, Conquest isn't your best choice. Play Rush or Domination, you'll enjoy the game a lot more. Rush is fun, I just don't enjoy playing it as much sometimes because if you play with stupid people, you lose easily.

My K/D has plummeted since a few months ago when it was in the 1.5 range. I know it is a small metric and sometimes people like to downplay it, but the fact remains: if you are killing more than you are dying, you are doing a good job. I'd love to be at 1.5 K/D, 300 Skill, 600 SPM, and 66.7% Win %

I use AA on two maps: Zavod and Lancang. The other seven maps, I'm all over the place. Trendon can vouch that I don't camp. Not in the least. The only time I "camp" is if I'm sniping, and that's not camping, it's sniping.

AJ try domination. It's like domination in COD, and a lot more close quarters. I bet you'd like it better

Well, to your point, there really isn't any camping. You could actually argue that I am the "camper" since, on Conquest, I immediately beeline it to the other side of the map and spend all match attacking them as they leave their spawn and keeping their flag perpetually contested. If you get a squad with a recon (for spawn points and C4), an engineer (to blow shit up), assault/medic to kill and revive, and support (for ammo refills) and you all head over to the other side ... you will drive the opponents insane while being super productive.

Again, let's use French phrases: c'est la vie. I love the game because really does play their role and the absolute focus is on winning. Others might not.

No, people can still camp (esp on modes like Domination), but on Conquest if you camp, you're going to be very useless. Kills in random places do nothing for your score.

The only time I'm in one spot is if I'm sniping (but....it's sniping ), if I'm watching someone's back (if a teammate is dominating in a vehicle or a sniper spot w an elevator, I'll make sure they continue to do so for the good of the team), or if I'm using equipment like a mortar or a MAV that doesn't allow you to move while you're using it.

Can still camp and be a sniper or be useless as a sniper.

For example:
Map-nuketown

Scenario- Jason in a house watching b as we get it or "protecting" b

Results more often than not- we get killed on b or we lose b.

Hoos and Jason are the masters of the above technique.
