His college coach questioned his work ethic.
He benched less than most combine participants. But damn he's fast...

Also comments made in the past, cannot find the article at the moment, that he really didn't like football and it was just a job for him. Reported as being late to meetings frequently as well. It's not just one thing, it's a combination, and I think they add up to a kid who really isn't passionate about playing in the NFL, and I believe that is something you really need to make the sacrifices required of an elite athlete.
Didn't we all hear this about Vernon Gholston, who was also a talent like Clowney?

Ya Gholston had 35 reps at the bench. I wonder what that bench press monster is doing now in the NFL getting seperation off OLineman. Has to be top 5 in sacks no?

I think it's overblown, personally. I think he saw what can happen to a guy to derail his NFL dreams (when he saw one of the nastiest injuries in recent memory in person, Lattimore's knee injury) and he decided to play it safe and not lose his spot as a top-5 pick. Not what I or some others would do, but I absolutely understand it.

You know what bench pressing means? absolutely nothing. Who gives a shit what Spurrier thinks/says. Clowney was touted as the #1 pick last yr. He just didnt care. I wouldnt care either if I knew I was a lock for a top pick. I'd coast the final year, make sure I dont get injured ala Lattimore, and get drafted high.
How can you say bench means nothing? He is a DE! Creating separation from the offensive player is necessity. Oline guys are getting fast too and just speed isn't going to get it done these days.

He has one of the most unbelievable wingspans ever for a DE. I think that's going to do more for him getting separation and getting past a OL than his bench press numbers will. As a DL, you don't get to the pass rusher by having arm strength, you do so by having a quick first step and more lower body strength to generate leverage.

I fucking hate them. I saw the helmet last week and didn't like how big the flag was. Now that I see the rest of the uniform I want to cry. Get rid of the black and bring back the orange, red and white. People always hated on those but they are my favorite Buccaneers uniform. They have sentimental value for me as I remember sitting in the stands those first couple years struggling through the 0-14 and 2-12 records. Tampa Stadium was still packed though and was a sea of orange.

I was happy with the previous uniforms, these new ones are horrible.

Competition Committee discussing moving XP try back to the 25 yard line (42 yard attempt) but keeping 2 pt try from same current position.

Would seem weird, but not sure I'd be against it. Drops expected conversion rate for kick from 99.6% to ~83%. You'd basically see a missed PAT every game with that kind of rate.

Photoshopped. Look at the light around this face vs. the rest of the body/area...

XP from the 25, 2PT from the 2.5. I'm in favor of this.

"We'll have cutting edge uniforms that will link back to our history; excited about our direction" Scheiner on new unis to debut in 2015 for the Cleveland Browns
This is actually brilliant timing after the debacle that was the Bucs unveil of their unis.

I am sure Dan has already sewn a couple letters on the new ones already. :)
