I don't think you need to do both.
If you injure players, then teams have to sign more viable replacements. This spends free money that is sitting around the game economy, which naturally reduces the asking price of players in extension or free agent negotiations.
At least that is how it has been explained in the past.
If more people are spending money, wouldn't that increase the asking price of the FA's and not reduce them? I don't see how an extra $200M being spent would reduce prices, that should increase prices
I think it has more to do with the game engine than actual economics
Like the game engine sees that on average teams have $40 mil to spend each (just throwing a random number) then the AI free agents will ask more because technically a team should spend it. If they have only $20 mil on average to spend the the AI will ask for less because there is less money

Yep, I run a 6man pen and I STILL have a guy who's only pitched 10 innings. And I don't even set their roles other than the Closer. Let the AI decide. Pretty dumb stuff.
Two way prospect Joe Davis is making his debut next sim.
He's got the starting spot at DH for RHP. Probably will not pitch given how this game uses relievers, but he is set for middle relief and avoid high leverage so who knows.
What is up with Mike Krieger? He signs a big deal with PO this off season and has pretty much shit the bed for AJ. Even his fielding sucks which is pretty amazing given that he was always rock solid in CF

if you figure out how to make that work let me know.
when i had Hobbs in everyday line up in CF and also as a reliever he was never used.
i really still want to use Hobbs as a SP but hes so much better as a hitter when i don't.

Yeah I feel like Hobbs is at the point where I wouldn't even try to pitch him now. He's so much better at playing CF. Maybe would pitch him in mop up duty if i needed, but pitchers hardly get tired in this game.
Davis really is only good at hitting RHP and can barely play the field (he'll mainly DH for me) so he should have adequate rest. I wonder if that is why Hobbs didn't do well playing both? CF is a demanding position
