Yea, it's just an opportunity to push more stuff upon us, even though it had nothing to do with any of these mass shootings. I logically assumed one of them was on the no fly list.

Heck, I don't know all of what the no fly list entails, but banning them from buying guns does sound like a good idea at face value. But it's just odd coming all of a sudden when the no fly list had nothing to do with anything.

The reason the idea gets push back (I think it's paranoia mostly) is that many right wingers believe that the government will manipulate the no-fly lists, much like the theory that they'd use doctors to influence mental illness limitations. The goal being to put an excessively large number of people in a position to not own a gun.

...and while I've grown to nearly despise our President... he said something tonight that I've been thinking for a long, long time...

If the Muslims in the United States want to avoid the kind of skepticism that they claim they face here, then they are going to have to stand up, loud and clear against this. Not only do they need to be a part of the charge to stop ISIS/radical Islam, they need to be at the forefront. That's the only way I see our nation truly coming together.
