I think this transfer ban could affect these two clubs moreso than Barcelona. It seemed like Barcelona saw theirs coming and snapped up a ton of players in preparation. I don't see Real and Atletico being able to do the same unless the ban doesn't begin until the offseason. And even if it didn't many clubs aren't willing to part with their players midseason

It doesn't begin til summer. This window is still open for them.

Still will be tough sledding with teams reluctant to sell players mid-season

That is huge
1) Ronaldo is going nowhere for another year now
2) Makes it much more likely that United makes a hard push for Diego Simeone
Just means they can't buy. Doesn't mean they can't sell, though they wouldn't likely sell Ronaldo without getting someone to replace him.
From what I understand, it's a full transfer ban; but either way, they won't sell Ronaldo if they can't replace him. That was my point.

The ban doesn't take effect until July; however, prices are hyperinflated during the January window and the type of players they would go after, they won't be able to afford.
It also means Atletico can't sell Griezmann in the summer as many expected would be the case.

Im not so certain Altetico would have sold Griezman unless you feel they only upped his release clause as a result of this transfer ban

There were heavy talks with Chelsea about a Griezmann for Costa/cash deal. Arsenal were also big on him.

Missed the game but 2 90th minute goals and 9 overall . Not sure Klopps style can endure a full premier league season but it's better than watching Brendan Rodgers teams

Januzaj comes on and immediately concedes a foul in the defensive third which of course resulted in a set piece goal... Love me some United struggles

We should have sold the lazy punk when we had the chance
LVG has to go. It's that simple. He's killing this team with his team selections
And now we're down ANOTHER FB as Darmian has a broken rib. So Shaw, Darmian, Young, Valencia, and Rojo are all out hurt.

If it's true they're putting LVGs transfer plans on hold due to the teams inconsistent form then I'd say he has to go. They desperately need reinforments and better overall depth so whether it's Giggs for the rest of the season or Mourinho, they need a serious roster shakeup

US National team is really, really bad right now. No players are showing ball control, passes are off and or late, and it's like a bad FIFA player who as soon as they get the ball just lump it forward and refuse to create some build up if things aren't open... Long time before we become relevant in the world woof

I must admit I was dead wrong on Leicester... I thought for sure this would be the week their collapse, well drop to 4th, would begin. Liverpool still maddeningly inconsistent if we have any of their fans here.

Man City had no heart today... depressing to watch
i read they have 3 losses and 3 draws vs the top 6 this year. i love everything about how soccer handles their system, but the fact its just a regular season winner when you can feast on shitty teams and lose to the other good teams is shitty.

Not too sure what they'll be able to change but I hear your point. In most cases the season is long enough and things usually even themselves out but there could be seasons where it won't like you said.
Guardiola will certainly need to freshen up the squad come the offseason. Toure doesn't have his heart in it and is a liability in the middle of the park as far as constantly pushing forward and leaving the center exposed. Navas to me is an alright spark off the bench but his service from the wing is so awful and shouldn't be starting as much as he does. Despite some uneven performances I do love the Otamendi signing and think Mangala still can be a force in the back. There's a lot to like in the squad with De Bruyne, Aguero, and Sterling as well but this season just seems like a hangover for them

It's actually set up this year that, if they get their acts together, Arsenal and Manchester City could decide the title on the final day of the season.....when they play each other on MatchDay 38.
I was on the LCFC train a few months ago, Ranieri has them believing in themselves, he's making the 442 system work, and he's got the perfect players for it. This day last year, they had 17 points and were in dead last in the table, with relegation looming. What he has done in one year is simply remarkable

I'm making a killing on DK with soccer right now. Hit 149 today with my cash lineup and won two $1 contests to snag $20 entries for the huge soccer tournament next week. Over the past four weeks I've increased my bankroll nearly 50% on soccer alone and have won a 500 person GPP contest and finished 2nd in another.
