Bryce's knees buckled a little when they both connected on that first punch

It seemed like he got the helmet back and ready and then may have realized "oh shit, I'll get mega suspended if I throw the helmet" and just let it fly off to the side.
I can see the argument for it slipping and being a duck too though

This slo mo makes me think he may have meant to throw it at him but it slipped out of his hands. it also shows Strickland landed an open hand slap very flush. Harper lands one but not a good one

It was in the parking lot pre-game and it was with a team mate. He was pissed I had been announced the starter and he was a pudgy, mad little fella. He started talking crap about how I won't end the season there and such.
He got in my face and I shoved him and then the team separated us immediately. I took off my sandal and chucked it at him and hit him in the side of the head with amazing accuracy unlike Bryce. It of course only angered him much much more and that game in the dugout was very awkward
My go to sandal in my playing days for reference:

It was on the trunk of the car I was changing from.
I am not proud of said decision but I am proud of contact that was made.

Good point
Albert Pujols is about to reach 600 homers, and no one seems to care

Also, Buster Posey was VERY late to help out, and once he got there he kinda just backed up a little bit. Probably a smart call based on his concussion history.

Deadspin wrote how it was more of the pitcher on his own accord decided to throw at him and Posey didn't want him too. Just funny to see how Posey and Baumgartner wanted nothing to do with that ordeal and you are right, injuries probably had more to do with that then the deadspin claim.

there was also speculation that the pitcher told him not to come out right away.
as for the helmet, if you've ever tried to throw a batting helmet by the brim, I'd speculate it 100% slipped. Rookie mistake really. You'd almost have to throw it dodgeball style.

So the Giants lose Strickland for 1 to 3 innings, Nationals lose Harper for 36 innings/18-20 at-bats

I didn't say a victory for their teams.
Player got suspended less than the pitcher. If this wasn't superstar against MR as far as contracts, and it was 2 more normal players, Strickland would be losing more money.
I love how they always appeal though

Point still stands.
It will always impact batters much more than it will ever impact pitchers based on their rest/usage.
Closest I've come to something like that was predicting the Browns getting their FG blocked and run back for a TD to lose a few years ago, at the beginning of the drive when they were on their own 20.
But hell, that's the Browns. That was probably more likely than not
