What is interesting is that Silva failed for anabolic steroids, but it was done out of competition cycle. With that being said, how do they handle this after letting Jones get away with cocaine? I think steroids is much worst, in the sports world, than cocaine is. Think we just saw Silva fight for the last time.

I don't know how I never made this connection... I've been stoked about McGoat (Conor McGregor) for awhile now. I stumbled across this YouTube clip and the audio is from Prince Naseem Hamed. I was a HUGE Hamed fan. McGregor is basically the MMA version of what Hamed was. (hopefully he doesn't suffer the same fate anytime soon!)
BTW, if you're not familiar with 1 or the other, it's well worth killing some time on YouTube to find out about them.

Listening to Lebby yesterday, I never realized this, and it's happened before but...Silva gets a positive drug test for PEDs a month before the fight, so it's known by UFC, but the fight still goes on. After the fight, it's made public, and then the suspension handed out is basically equal to the time in between fights for the fighters?
Well played UFC, well played!!!

Tonight @ 9p on Spike... Glory 19.
Glory is a one of the top kickboxing organizations in the world. Tonight features their World Heavyweight champ, Rico Verhoeven versus Errol Zimmerman. Rico is just 25yrs old and many think he's going to dominate kickboxing for the next 5-7 years. Zimmerman isn't a pushover though and holds a 1-1 record against Rico (a 1st round KO in 2012).
Definitely worth recording and watching over the weekend!

Re: MMA / UFC - Official Thread
Hector Lombard and Rory MacDonald fight has been scratched from UFC 186.
Reason being......PEDs
Hector Lombard failed a post fight drug screening after UFC 182. Yes the same card that Jon Jones was on at the end of December. I would love to know why it is taking over a month to get results like this back. I know when we send off our urine samples for our drug screening we get it back within 2 weeks. And that's the Army where everything takes forever to get done.

Re: MMA / UFC - Official Thread
Just started the Prelims.
Fister has some heart and one hell of a chin. Didn't think he was getting past that first round.
Does Time Elliott ever have a boring fight? He worked great off his back in the 1st. Makovski is all about the take Downs and that is all.. he is good at them though. I thought Tim won the second round even though he was taken down multiple times. Makovski did Nothing from top position that round. That fight would be hard to judge. Do you favor take downs and control or do u like the guy who is active. Thought Tim Elliott could have won if a judge liked action over control. Makovski didn't do such in the fact of striking, even in top position. Fun fight none the less
Skelly and Alers fight was fun in the 1st. Reminded me of rock'em sock'em robots. Skelly should find a new corner. After the first round and the success he was having with his hands they should have told him to keep the fight on the feet. They made too much of the illegal knee. Thought the fight should have been stopped before that point.
Think Efrain should have had a 10-8 round had he been able to keep the fight on the feet in the first. Thought the second round should have been a 10-8 round as well. This Brazilian shouldn't be fighting in the UFC. No stand up game and I am not impressed with his BJJ from his back. I have it ad 30/26 and could have been 30/25.

Re: MMA / UFC - Official Thread
Now onto the main card.
Borg - Kelades: pretty boring 1st round. Halfway thru the second still boring. All Borg does is wrestle someone down and tries for half assed position changes. Brian Stann was talking about him competing for a belt, just don't see it. He isn't well rounded enough, nor is he exciting enough to force big fights to move up the ranks (think Connor McGreggor). I found myself doing other things during the fight. Kid has a bright future if he can figure out that straight grappling isn't going to win him any fans. I will wait to pass judgement on him till I watch him again. But if he keeps fighting this way I will not be a fan.
Prazeres. - Lee: Pretty impressed with Lee's chin. Also like how he would use the 9.5" reach advantage. Good win by Lee.
Kelly - Walsh: Walsh coming in over by 6.5lbs, That's disrespectful and unprofessional. UFC needs to clean this up. Liked the defense of Kelly in the first round. Walsh threw Nothing but haymakers. Thought Kelly won the first round even with the late takedown by Walsh. Even with all the bombs thrown by both fighters second round was pretty boring. Kelly needs to learn how to throw combinations. 2nd round could have gone either way, 3rd was all Kelly. Now to the judges.....Definitely think they got it right.
Magny - Kunimoto: really been impressed with how Magny has developed since TUF House. Love the use of knees by Magny, testing that cardio out by constantly landing to the gut. One thing I love about downloading these fights, while you guys get commercials I get to listen in on the corner men. Magny is an extremely coachable guy. He listens and executes what the corner says. Great finish! Hoping to see Joe Silva give home some stronger competition. If he could rattle off 3-4 victories again in 2015 I see no reason Why he couldn't fight for the belt early 2016.
Holloway - Miller: Think the 1st round could have gone either way. Max definitely won the 2nd round. Great fight by Holloway. Cole Miller needs to learn to ignore incidental fouls, think that got into his head big time. Can't wait to see him fight Swanson.
Henderson - Thatch: can't wait for this one! Henderson looked small at the weigh in, like two weight classes smaller. I don't understand how Thatch got a main event not being ranked. Don't remember who he was supposed to fight though. Always been a fan of Smooth, I think he needs to be dominant to win a decision though, or he can always just finish the fight for the win. I think he wears out Thatch for the victory. The speed of Henderson is huge at 170. Think the round could have gone either way. The body shots and movement by Henderson could ware Thatch out in later rounds where Henderson can take advantage. I like the aggressiveness of Thatch, makes for a fan friendly fighter. Thatch easily wins second round.. Takedown in the third was huge. May take a lot out of Thatch in the 4th and 5th rounds. That swelling on his right eye looks like he could have a cracked socket. To start the 4th, both eyes swelling. The body shots and movement looks like it is wearing down Thatch. Nice takedown. Great finish by Smooth! And fought the whole fight with a toothpick in his mouth again.
Borg - Kelades: pretty boring 1st round. Halfway thru the second still boring. All Borg does is wrestle someone down and tries for half assed position changes. Keep in mind that Borg is just 21. Hopefully he can kick it into gear and become an entertaining and successful mainstay in his division. I totally agree on Magny. He's basically the anti-Walsh... classy and professional. Thatch got the hype with his record and work in another organization. But the truth is, like many others that come over, he really hadn't faced the best of the best. There are very few guys out there that can walk into the UFC and fight for a title or even in the top 5. Many have had to find that out the hard way... Shields, Lombard, Alvarez, etc. Not saying they can't get there, but it is a reality check when they jump right into the cage with the best of the UFC.

I just hope that she keeps working on her fighting so we can see more and more of this stuff. She signed with Reebok because she's pretty hot and has a helluva personality. This makes her incredibly marketable. It's obvious that Dana and Reebok are trying to get their replacement for Rousey ready.

Dana said if Rousey dispatches Zangano then who is left for her? She would have beaten everyone that is someone at that weight. And if she does it by another stoppage then nobody really has a leg to stand on to get a rematch.ReignOnU wrote:I just hope that she keeps working on her fighting so we can see more and more of this stuff. VanZant also put on a great show her first fight. I loved her aggressive nature.

I figured it up the other night. If you had $20 on every dog, you would have won right around $500.GeorgesGoons wrote:Watching the Mir - Bigfoot fight night. Amazing how all the underdogs have won. Read that Bovada sports book lost over a $1m dollars that night.
