Any advice? I was up 10-0 playing well getting time to throw and putting pressure on with the front 4. Then all of a sudden it just falls apart. No time to throw, no holes to run through and their Qb getting all the time in the world. Two d-line man tipped ints and a random fumble later I was down with no hope of coming back. 5 dropped passes, 4 sacks, knocked down about 5 more times, 3 turnovers (none of which were forced bad throws) in the last 3 quarters. Any help would be appreciated its getting very frustrating, I don't mind losing but this seems to be a bit ridiculous.

Very good post from six in a different thread...
Ok, I happen to visit here.. and noticed the gripes about Heisman and the difficulties.. It gotten a little easier since the recent updates.

Few things, You gotta have a plan going into the game. Of what you want to do, and what time of team you wanna be, and know what kind of players you have.

The easiest thing to do probably do is get a dominant running team with strong offensive linemen with high impact blocking and a solid back with good btk and acc. And just pound the ball.

In terms of passing the main thing you have to know about the cpu is they love to do heavy blitzes and with bump coverage .... And a lot of times it will work cause your WRs at least with the lower end teams have a tough time getting off the line of scrimmage. But these are also the times you can really make the defense pay. If you know it is coming hot route a hot to a slant or even a streak, or look for the RB out of the backfield take a 1 to 3 yard gain over the loss of 8.

Also if you see them overloading a side or it appears an outside blitz is coming use your Oline Shifts. It will buy you a little extra time.
If your a spread team don't be afraid to pick up the pace by sprinkling in the No Huddle so they cant switch personnel but you can still change up your look with the full pb being available.

If your trying to run from shotgun, you have to set it up with the pass. Don't be afraid to run on passing downs and pass on passing downs, also try to avoid running option reads if you since they are blitzing more then you can block at the point of the attack. Count the guys in the box, if you have them spread out don't be afraid to check down to a draw or quick base play and get 5 easy yards on the run.

Also mix it up like Tfan said, but it also helps to think ahead a little run plays that setup others, or that chain together and switch formations. Cause the CPU picks up on tendencies. Also just keep things simple, don't try to do too many different things, when try too much that is when the cpu starts racking up sacks.

I know these are basic things, but sometimes we forget them when things don't seem to be going well.
main thing is..the cpu wil ladjust if you do the same type thing. For example, if i have success running early i pass more second drive. keep mixing it up. use hot routes to exploit the agressiveness of their line. and ALWAYS....have a hot read.

I was frustrated early but mixing things up heavily has helped tremendously.

If you have early success say goign up 2-3 scores early. be ready for a HEAVY barrage. They will make a comeback. But if you play it concervatively or catch them on a heavy blitz and score, momentum will shift back to you and things will level out.

Thanks for the response...Sadly I believe I have done most of these things, i spend a good deal of time before the snap checking the D making adjustments if needed and knowing what Im giong to do with the ball. My oline is horrible 74 is the best overall and 3 of them are in the 60's. They whiff on blocks no joke just completly miss. Run game wont happen, any good gain is a holding call. Ill just have to keep plugging away and hope that next off season they improve a ton as alot of the team is still a year or 2 left before they leave.

We have advanced. The only user vs user game is Oracle vs Dr Tom. Next advance is Friday night.

I don't know what the deal is with some people not getting games in. I am not a huge fan of heisman at the moment. Both my losses have been shootouts but it is so hard to stop the other team's O. Has anyone been able to establish a running game. I might break out a run of 10 yards or so here or there, but most other times it is eaten up as soon as you start to run. Just gets very tiring. I know some people really supported heisman for the NDL, but I would imgaine most of those people practices with A or A+ teams that those of us here with B and below just have no time and would make it hard to compete.

Either way, maybe we need to make some slider adjustments? I don't know. I think if we don't make some changes, we may be down to 4 people or so.

I don't know if people are not playing because of it. I think I will make changes to the sliders that were suggested earlier and see how things go. Hoping to advance a little later today. Had some things come up.

User games are fun but playing the cpu is ridiculous.

We have advanced. Next advance will be Wed night around 1030 EST

I have made changes to the sliders as were suggested. Let's see how these go for a few games. I don't want people giving up on the OD because of it being being too tough and not fun. So give me your honest opinions on the sliders.

Everyone has a game and there are no user games.
