MAKE SURE YOUR GAME DATE IS 2/8......
I put out a file for 2/7 and realized the owners did their crazy thing again. I corrected everyones budget and ran 1 day and put out a new file for 2/8. Unless you downloaded at like 5 am in that 45 minute window this should not matter.

I just downloaded at like 6:45 AM and it was on 2/7, I made some changes, exported and it said, nope, 2/7 is wrong.
Thanks Billy! My fault for not waiting for blue text, but all that work for nothing!

Sorry, I thought of posting a wait just in case but it was really early and thought it would add confusion. Was hoping I beat the guys waking up

I can tell you first hand, no way in hell I can even begin to afford to pay a player $15-20M per season. So under these settings, the rich get richer.
My owner bumped up my budget to 110 M, Billy sets it back to 79 M. Not saying it is wrong, just saying that this will cause shitty teams to take absolutely forever to get better.
Nevermind signing a big name player, not gonna happen now.
The problem with adjusting budgets manually is we will NEVER have extra.
If it is based on last years revenue, shitty teams will always take forever to build up and will not be able to sign Nationally popular players to sell season tickets, etc.
Like I said to Billy, maybe ootp realized that in real life, sometimes owners like what a manager is doing and say, here is an extra $25 M, go sign a big name player. Well, with our setup, that will never happen.
And please understand, I am not bitching about my team. We will continue trucking along and getting better, slowly.
Maybe we need to rethink some of this is all I am saying. Being a shitty team, I see things from a different perspective.
We will continue trucking along making $2M more per season and 10 seasons from now, we will finally be able to sign that 1 big name player.

The rich do not get richer. You of all people should know better.
The budgets are done EXACTLY THE SAME. In OOTP 19 they started adding/subtracting rev sharing from budgets which is not how we do it. Rev sharing is like playoff money, you get that as cash and not cash plus your budget.
Nothing hasn’t changed with how we do budgets and you need to ignore the random things that owners change

Why do we do it that way?
Maybe it is time to change? Maybe we need to understand why OOTP19 made the change?

Because it’s dumb. You get that money as cash. If every team with a 150 million dollar payroll loses 25 million and cash and budget every year because they are good then they will be punished for running things well??? How does that make sense.
Maybe OOTP19 is time for the guys who are always bad to keep up more than 50% of the time and be patient and make smart moves as Qaz, Sizzler, and Plasma have shown the blue print recently

So how was Niddler's budget $110mil the changed to $79 mil if Rev sharing is only like $15mil?

His was a little different case because he moved and all his fan interest changed this offseason. It is just impossible to project every little change for every team and how it impacts it so the only fair way to do these budgets is to make it the previous seasons revenue like it has always been. Niddler will sell way more season tickets and way more regular season tickets and his revenue and therefore budget will benefit in next seasons budget.

It was pretty minimal but sometimes if someone had a real big offseason like the Gamblers have had your budget would go up because of the fan interest spike. We just don’t really have a way to do that now

you mean teams spend more when interest is up? and spend less when interest declines? shocker.

Gamblers sign Jeff Patterson to a 7 year 252 million dollar deal
Gamblers sign Vaghn Drake to a 7 year 222 million dollar deal
question
now that its done deal on these two what is consensus on these deals
did I overpay ?
what is your opinion on deal
remember I am rebuilding team with money to spend
still trying to learn this leagues ratings system and determining player values since this league has ton of good looking players on the surface but when you dig further and compare to other players they are not so good a value

In theory, yes you overpaid.
But in this new OOTP 19 world, maybe not. What you paid seems to be the going rate based on other signings.

Yeah, I’d say that you are on par of what we’d expect for Patterson for sure.
I like Drake but I do see a few hits to his ratings over the past season or two so I personally would not have gone that high. In your predicament where you had so much money to spend it may be worth it as you have put yourself in playoff contention and will help keep the fan interest up and your budget as well.
Like Shel said 19 is new to us with the player demands so time will tell I suppose
