When teams press, the try and set screens, yes to free up the player, but also with the possibility that the guy that is getting screened runs him over hence drawing the foul. There was nothing illegal, dirty or cheap about the play. It was a great design that got the desired results. Get over yourself...

Never said illegal. I said it was cheap and lame that his only goal was to get a foul. It wasn't to free up a guy for a shot. Again, if there's no call at all, they lose because he was only focused on trying to get a foul.

And Peay: I would say tl;dr but that's just not true. Truth is....I don't care 8-) learn English

And I agree 100% when a player gets booked for it. That makes up 2% of the game.

In this case, that is the exact same thing.

I can appreciate good, smart basketball so no, I wouldn't have said a thing.

You may not care but if you post something stupid on here I'm going to say something. I'd do that with anyone.

1) I don't care what 95% of you think of me (get it right, never said I don't care what someone else thinks). Can't stand when idiots put words in my mouth.
2) Speak for yourself, don't speak for "globally" because you're 100% wrong; then again, you're quite prone to hyperbole

It's an interesting play. Not sure how I feel about setting a screen on the player guarding the in-bounds when there isn't another offensive player anywhere in the vicinity. If they're going to allow the inbounder to run the line during the inbound play, don't you have to allow the defender to legally defend that? I think I might see the play different if you position another offensive player along the baseline in a stationary position and when the play starts the inbounder runs the baseline to use the already set player as a screen, but when you're sneaking up behind the defender on the play it seems a little different.

In the NCAA rules for Men's and Women's basketball there is Section 40 on incidental contact that states in Article 5:

Art. 5. A player who is screened outside his or her visual field may make
inadvertent contact with the screener. Such contact shall be incidental, provided
that the screener is not displaced when he or she has the ball.

Could somewhat see this being applied in a situation like this.

In Appendix 3, Section 2, Item 6 it also states a foul shall be called when:

6. The screener sets a “blind” screen (outside the visual field) on a moving
defender and doesn’t allow ample time to stop or change directions;
usually one to two strides

I don't find it to be the worst play in the world, but I could imagine if this sort of thing happened more often that referees may be instructed to call it differently.

Is there a more subjective thing in sports than what is or isn't a foul in a basketball game  .

It's pretty much on par with every Olympic event that involves a panel of 5 judges deciding the winner.

Not sure what you're laughing about. I don't see many other players in college basketball getting double/triple teamed the moment they touch the ball in the paint.

Still stand by my statement. There's a reason he racked up 18 double doubles and has the highest offensive rebound rate in UK history (higher than even Cousins).
