I have windows 8 and do not hate it. I do miss the start button, but I just created a shortcut and added it to my icons. Also my laptop boots up in like 10 seconds, so love that. I think windows 8 gets a bad rap, because I dont see anything wrong with it.

I can do this to my tv or projector now with the HDMI adaptor for my iPad.
Run HDMI to my TV and it displays the iPad screen on the tv screen.

It is a neat idea though and nice that it has speakers built in too.
I just wonder how loud they will play at only 8 watts.

I wanted to point this out since we were talking about media in another thread and hard drive space came up.

Here is a pretty decent deal from slickdeals.net

Newegg has 4TB HGST Touro Desk USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (HTOLDX3NB40001ABB) for $159.99 - $30 with promo code 0730BTS32 = $129.99 + free shipping.

Damn. 4TB. I remember when I had a 20 mb hard drive and my friends told me I'd never fill that up.

I always wondered, is there some sort of catch to these things?

I bought a shitload of them a few years ago when they were like 90 percent off. I got$100 gift cards for like twelve bucks. the catch, if there is one, is that you have to spend x amount to use a certificate. For instance, to use a$25 certificate you'd need to spend at least 38 at the restaurant. Some restaurants restrict the days you can use them, but for the most part I've had zero issue with them. I still use the certificates I stocked up on, probably once a month. They're fantastic for trying new places, although the two trends I see are restaurants that are struggling and need the foot traffic, or new restaurants that want the exposure. Either way, breast way to eat out on the cheap

Also, I was on the email list for a while. Not sure if it's still the case, but off your patient they were seemingly always running crazy cheap deals for certificates, like at least 75 percent off

I agree 100%.
My post was really making fun of them originally.
I saw them and was like...um...just use your phone!

If you have gloves on, then you can hold your phone to your ear even in cold weather without any issues. :D

Aren't they made so that you can use the touch screen through the gloves? My wife has a pair and loves them, although you can usually get them for under ten bucks at a department store

Those ones had Bluetooth built into the gloves. So you hold your hand up to your face to talk.
Thumb to your ear for the speaker and your pinky to your mouth as it has the mic in it.

I have a pair that allows you to use your phone. Those are not bad.
These, having Bluetooth in them, I could imagine how retarded you look standing outside in the cold with your hand up like a telephone and talking away.
