if a guy is productive, I don't care what he does.
Until he gets caught smoking weed, ie Walter Thurmond and Brandon Browner...

Funny thing about Browner is he is supposed to be suspended for a year as a tier 3 offender because of his Canadian Football League stint and he didn't know he was still supposed to report to NFL drug testing...lol

im 100% in this group with you. I just feel, and its a recent feeling, that the QB position is where you want that 1 "straight edge" person.

Manning, brady, Rodgers, Wilson, Brees.

when you think these names I dont think party animal comes to mind.

But my point is Leaders don't do that, you get a ticket, you go about your day....,You dont' seem top tier QB's doing that do you? Would you want a franchise QB in the NFL with an attitude like that? It reflects your work eithic, you never hear about how he is the first guy in, last guy out..ever, from a lot of reports, it's the opposite, if he wants to enjoy college and party, to each his own, but he wouldn't be on my draft board at all, and I am sure I am not alone, as other GMs, will probably share that exact same thought.

exactly...and these guys will never be out prepared or worked in the NFL, you never hear bad things about them, and they sure in the fuck aren't out partying every night and making stupid "tweets". There is a reason why they continue to win.

GO Seahawks.

you're living in a fantasy land to fit your own narrative.

most of them aren't going out partying or making stupid tweets cause they are 35 yr old married men. like most of us aren't.

at 22 or 23 I'm sure they were out partying and making less educated and informed decisions (on some level), just like most of us did.

there are guys who go out and get fucked up at night and are horrible teammates who play incredible and there are guys who stay home and study film all night and drink milk and eat carrots who suck on game day. we create this fictitious world of superheros... these guys are no different than we are, whether you want to believe that or not. Johnny's play on the field is all that matters and answers all the questions about his preparation or lack of.

Well go ahead and show me the tweets nad pictures of Peyton, Russell, Aaron, Drew in college then please? Can you do that for me? I dont' see a bunch of stupid shit from AJ? or some of these QBs you will actually have a shot at an NFL career...

You are the one that lives in a fantasy land if you think what he is doing now is ALRIGHT on the standards for being a leader, if you want your kid following this kid..then good luck I guess.

i don't want my kid following any of these guys... i'll handle my unborn son when he needs someone to look up to.

as for quarterbacking my football team, yeah i'll take the guy who won a Heisman one year and is probably a finalist the next.

whether he can or will produce in the NFL is yet to be seen, if he can, i'll take him in the NFL as well. if he can't I wouldn't want him. what he does in his private life means nothing.

nothing matters other than production and given football is a team sport, his offenses production. he can be high and his teammates can hate his guts for all I care if he is winning games. you can have Tebow and his leadership and his lack of production and i'll take a great QB who produces and does crack.

we get far too emotional about these guys like we're watching a movie about their lives cause we have access to snippets of their lives thru twitter. he's a football player... how he plays football is all that matters.

Not being a dick, but I am tremendously shocked that this is your attitude on this. That said, I agree whole heartedly.

in the last 25 years, QBs who won the heisman have 1 total win in the NFL playoffs (Tebow).. some food for thought.

Exactly..you will take a guy that "produces" over offield things eh? Well lets see how that works out for you...or people in the past, you might be able to go out and find Jarmacus Russell to head your franchise? Johnny can back him up?

So you wouldn't take Winston if you were drafting, right?

Even if the charges are dropped, that sure doesn't sound like a guy you want leading your team. Then if he wins the Heisman, double whammy!!!!

And Ps...you state Tebow and his leadership..you forget he has had some of the best statistics for a rushing QB in a career in college football right? He never had a lack of production hahaha. So you might want to try someone else..but I will take my Peyton...Montana, Young, Manning, Brady, Wilson, Luck for their leadership skills before I take Johnny and his "production" yet no leadership skills haha.

And no..I wouldn't take Winston, not with what is going on with his investigation right now. Like I said, to each there own..but if you look at the past superbowl winners in the NFL..name me at least 2 of them in the last 15 years that have had a shady ass QB behind the helm? The QB position in the NFL isn't for the faint of heart, and is a HUGE leadership role, it reflects the attitude and nature of the entire team, the great QBs, dont' have baggage like that, they just don't, so you can take your chances, like GMS' have in the past, and you can watch your team go down the shitter...I will stay the course, and continue to look at leadership and production.

In todays NFL, that would be a big mistake, because what good is a great QB when he is suspended?

Just a thought since i am at the airport and have no plane, what do you do with a guy like Cutler? Really good production but disliked by teamates and cant seem to win?
