Re: NFL Thread
Listening to Lebby's show from yesterday, he just dropped an interesting stat:
Since 2006, Peyton Manning has the highest QBR in the NFL in cold weather games.
Who woulda thunk it!

A lot of "simultaneous" actions going on in those rules.

Good god, did you really compare Johhny to Russell when it comes to preparing himself and his teammates? Do you read very often? ANYTHING i have read about Johnny has said JUST the opposite, have you watched him play? He isn't making "great reads" he runs around in circles and throws it up into triple coverage....He will be a complete FLOP in the NFL, mark my words on it.

Name me everything you've read detailing his poor work ethic.
Re: NFL Thread
Dan Jermeiah - NFL.COM
NFL teams more concerned about on-field work ethic
NFL teams will do their homework on Johnny Manziel's active nightlife, but they will be more concerned with these two issues: His work ethic and leadership. Those are areas that are crucial to the success of the quarterback position.
Is Johnny spending a lot of extra time studying tape? Is he putting in the extra work on the practice field to improve his footwork and timing? Do his teammates respect him? Those are the questions that NFL teams will look to get answered. If he passes those tests, I don't believe many (if any) teams will be overly concerned with his off-field choices.

You want your "Franchise" player doing this? Dont' give me the young and immature shit either...TRUE leaders don't act like this.
In the offseason when you are invited to go to a camp and show up, but can't make it to the last day cause you got to drunk the night before...that isn't much of a LEADER..have fun, do it whenever you want, enjoy being a college student, but dont' tell me you have a great "work ethic" if you think going out and getting plastered is more important than learning from some of the best at your position...
Written in an article from the NYPOST.
Two weeks ago, after the NCAA, which couldn’t prove water is wet, absurdly suspended Manziel for the first half of the season opener against Rice, he reminded us why he’s the most exciting college football player we’ve seen since Deion Sanders. He completed six passes in the second half and three went for touchdowns.
And then Johnny Foolboy all but exposed himself on the field.
He rubbed his fingers together in a show-me-the-money gesture. He mimed signing autographs. He trash-talked Rice players, pointing to the scoreboard, which showed the Owls hopelessly behind.
After that got him penalized for taunting and put his teammates in danger for giving the opposition reason to take a cheap shot at any player wearing an A&M jersey, Manziel walked right past as Sumlin was trying to talk some sense into the star.
Johnny Foolboy wouldn’t listen because when Johnny Foolboy looks at a team photo, he only sees himself.
Is that the type of guy you think will be successful in the NFL these days? Not a freaking chance...DEF not at the QB spot, and if a GM is dumb enough to take a chance on him, god save his sole, and his team.

What does that tweet have to do with work ethic?
And actually, 99% of what you just posted has zero to do with work ethic. And other parts are just false and/or your opinion.
So I ask again, name me all of the stuff you've read that question his work ethic. YOu have 1, give me all the rest.

Nah, I asked about work ethic. I'll save those for a different discussion. Not sure why he made this big long post about clutch, leader, and passion since that's not what we were talking about.Cnasty wrote:Thats a lot of "clutch", "leader", "passion" type wordage that Shel and Dave are going to eat up!!

A GUY GOING OUT AND DRINKING TO THE POINT WHERE HE CAN"T PARTICIPATE AT A FOOTBALL CAMP WITH SOME OF THE BEST at his position at......that would be about as bogus of a work ethic as possible...you realize BEING A leader is part of your work ethic right? Apparently not.

Re: NFL Thread
First, you don't know that is actually what happened, you're exaggerating it to the worst degree possible to suit your needs. I can just as easily say all he did was forgot to set his alarm clock and be just as correct as you.xLiQx wrote:shel311 wrote:Nah, I asked about work ethic. 2nd, I already conceded that one to you in my previous post. You said "ANYTHING" you read talks about his poor work ethic, so I assumed you can easily come up with a bunch of examples, but I seem to have assumed incorrectly since it appears that you can only come up with one, which basically exactly proves the point I was trying to make.
Re: NFL Thread
EVERY single report you read says the EXACT same thing, not one report says anything different haha, there were photo's of him out drinking, and he said he was "dehydrated" the next day, give me a break lmao.
You are lost, and time will show me right, he will NOT BE a good NFL QB.

Apparently you're lost cause i never said anything about how good I thought he'd be in the NFL.xLiQx wrote:You are lost, and time will show me right, he will NOT BE a good NFL QB.
I asked for all the stuff about his work ethic and you can only give me 1 thing, so we'll call it a day at that. "ANYTHING" you read equates to just that 1 thing, that's cool, no biggie.

Re: NFL Thread
its a pointless argument because i dont have "proof" i am just trying to relate to a partier. I can almost guarantee Manziel has done MDMA, which dehydrates the shit out of u. I know Manziel is rich, famous and a party animal so sorry I'll be a little naive and assume he does more than drink. You want your QB doing MDMA?
Re: NFL Thread
plenty of guys drink and do drugs. plenty of guys drink and do drugs before games and nights before games.
if a guy is productive, I don't care what he does.

Re: NFL Thread
At the defense of Manziel... that tweet was blown way out of proportion. Certainly, he shouldn't have made it, or at least worded it differently, but the events leading up to it were pretty silly.
