44 active positives
484 isolated/quarantine ( direct contact with infected for extended time) makes up 4.5 percent of total system.
My school leads the way with 82 in quarantine and 6 positives. Go Jackets.
You have 10k kids in your school system? Is this a multiple hs metro system?

When you're saying Omaha has 52k, I'm assuming that's at least 6 schools... right?

Ok... I'm not crazy here.. OPS is 9 high schools. Millard is 4. That makes way more sense.
It was just throwing me off when I read his post and saw 480 infected at 4.5%. Most of our schools around here don't speak to their entire system, uless it's the dumpster fire known as Dayton Public.

Small college town ( OVC Tennessee Tech) home of BFIVL and Wasted. 60k population for the county. 3 HS. Largest having 2200 plus students. 5 Middle schools and 20 elementary roughly. All of my totals are for all schools combined in our county.
Typical absenteeism is Roughly 5% or lower on any given day. Almost 5 percent are in quarantine today. So safe to assume we are close to 10 percent. My school without remote learning is about 800 kids 5th-8th. I’ll say roughly 100 are doing remote learning now so 700 in school with 82 quarantine. That’s a lot.

Ok... that makes a lot more sense to me. Though that's still bigger than I'd expect in that area (I was pretty sure it was Cookeville). I've only passed through once, but with all of my trips to Dale Hollow/Knoxville/Crossville, I'd have never expected a school of that size there.

The media really wanted Sturgis to be a disaster. Still pushing hard to make it look like it was the trigger of tsunami of cases.
The Sturgis motorcycle rally that experts warned would be a coronavirus superspreader event has been linked to 100 new cases in 8 states
Certainly not good that 100 people spread out to 8 states... but when we're talking about 500,000, is 100 really even a number to talk about? Actually seems like quite the opposite considering the lack of masks and tons of close contact at the event.

~30,000 students enrolled at Alabama
~1,000 students already diagnosed with COVID, with unknown undiagnosed and asymptomatic cases
So, 1/30th of the campus is sick with an exponentially spreading virus and classes started 10 days ago.
you guys are absolutely dreadful at this.

Had a good run of lower quarantine numbers but back to over 10 percent of total student population at my school. Entire football team quarantined due to a positive case on the team.

if youre interested in the other side of this.. "Herd Immunity".. watch Sweden who decided to do absolutely nothing.. and currently it's backfiring tremendously..
Most/nearly all of the European countries with population as big as or bigger are seeing big time spikes in cases in recent weeks...except Sweden.
Also, Sweden is still middle of the pack in Europe.

Sweden is 11th in the world in Deaths per Million.
And middle of the pack in Europe's bigger countries in deaths per million.
And again, not seeing a huge surge in cases like the rest of Europe currently.
