Also, I think it was Ted that drafted him, with the way scout variation is, Ted could very well have this dude at 80 potential but also 40 current. So Ted's scout might think he is wayyyyyy better currently than the Cincy scout.


All the more reason to place him on the 40 man and not risk it if you really liked him that much.

Cincy has 36 players on their 40 man, so if the guy is so valuable, why would he have not put him on the 40 man when he has 4 empty spots?

Ted is the most successful if you just go with consistency. He literally never rebuilds and never misses the playoffs. Always has discipline and never screws up his finances. I will say its a tad boring though. I am tired of my team already in these 5-6 seasons and can't wait for this era to finish and make moves again.

Seems like we used to have many "excellent" or legendary or even good....coaches to pick from its hard to find anyone worth anything anymore.

was there a setting adjustment in the past 10 seasons or so

or is it more guys stopped hiring minor league coaches, thus unproven guys stopped developing?

its a chore to find anyone worth a crap which isn't the end of the world, but with not really knowing how much coaches influence guys and their performance, it's kind of annoying

This is definitely a factor in it as I have hired a bunch of unproven guys for my minors and they immediately change to the next level after a season of experience.

But also many don’t care about managers/coaches since we voted on it a long time ago to make them optional.

nothing like signing a hitting coach to a 38k/yr deal in 2069. Thatll be borderline slavery by then i assume.
