You think he drops in the draft due to the baggage daddy brings?
Nah

If he's smart, he does what Venus/Serena did and shut him the hell out once that money starts coming in.

Will he fall? Probably not but as I said earlier these are distractions the kid doesn't need and are unnecessary.

I am surprised more of these known 1 and done kids coming out if high school don't go this route. You never know what injury or illness awaits around the corner and may as well get paid now, especially if they know they are going pro after 1 year

Ohio State fires Thad Matta in June. Weird, weird timing.

After he announced he would only coach 1 more season due to "health concerns".

sucks to be fired if youre retiring but i like it. In College hoops theres no reason for a retirement yr. It effects recruiting, youre gonna struggle to get kids to come ni not knowing their new coach. Retire now if youre gonna. You made enough.

As a die hard Buck fan, this change needed to happen at the end of this season. I know the struggles that Matta with his health since the 07 surgery and what not, he's a great person. But at Ohio State, there is no reason they aren't winning the Ohio recruiting battle every year. So regardless of my personal thoughts on Matta as a person, its about results. Gene Smith is from Mansfield, so very popular in the City I work, very weird that this went down in June....I hope whoever said Creane, no way. I, an avid CBB fan, Holtmann (Butler) or Miller (Arizona) I wish we would have got Miller (Dayton) but missed the boat. NW Coach is solid, Mack is too from X. Donavan rumors rolling here too but I don't think he will leave the NBA......

Get me a Coach that stresses defense....I like hustle and defense.....

Would've liked Miller but Mack is certainly the leader now if it was up to me. Always enjoyed watching his teams when I was at Miami after Miller left

Haha. By far my favorite player. (Well Jim Jackson, but nobody gave an effort like Jent. Craft was the last player who gave 100% like him....)

Holtmann or Mack was what I was hoping for. Holtmann to be introduced Monday. Hopefully this means recruiting the State of Ohio well and getting to the tournament. Get there and anything can happen.

Dan and Dave... such a bummer that Dan blew it. At least he redeemed himself in '96.
