If it crashed there's no way it would stay in tact when it hit the water though. Gotta be sizeable piecescougnix wrote:It was over open water right? It's at the bottom of the ocean and the small debris will be found soon I would guess.

Those seat cushions better float or I've been lied to by a lot of flight attendants.Weasel wrote:If youre talking an explosion over an ocean, I could see why they wouldn't find anything. I remember seeing a video of when they were testing the atom bomb, and shit nearby was, for all intents and purposes, 'vaporized'. I mean there was nothing there. Especially over an ocean which is huge as it is, plus how much of the debris actually floats? Not much I would think

For it to vaporize every thing on that plane to the point that no single shred of wreckage can be found, well... to my understanding that would have to be one tremendous bomb to be carried onboard by two guys. It would have to be in their carry on because the stowed luggage is thoroughly checked these days if I remember correctly, which makes it even more unlikely.Weasel wrote:If there was a bomb, they're ashes at this pointLetsGoPeay wrote:Those seat cushions better float or I've been lied to by a lot of flight attendants.Weasel wrote:If youre talking an explosion over an ocean, I could see why they wouldn't find anything. Does it send you notifications for actual important shit?Seeitsaveit13 wrote:Just get the cnn I phone app. Every now and then it will send you a little notification if planes disappear or famous people die. It's a solid way to not miss important shit.Cnasty wrote:Found out last night too. I really need to get more news into my life.shel311 wrote:Wait, there's an entire plane that is missing? I usually utilize the NDL for that but we have been seriously slacking.

Didn't really watch that show... How'd they explain the disappearance in the show? (as far as rationalizing why no one found them etc?)Cnasty wrote:+1nick wrote:id take bomb over being shark foodWeasel wrote:If there was a bomb, they're ashes at this pointLetsGoPeay wrote:Those seat cushions better float or I've been lied to by a lot of flight attendants.Weasel wrote:If youre talking an explosion over an ocean, I could see why they wouldn't find anything. There is no bomb known to man besides maybe a nuclear missile that will vaporize an entire plane, its contents, and 230 people. The more and more this drags on with no findings, the LOST script doesnt look too far fetched now.
Seeitsaveit13 wrote:The thing I can't get my head around is the debris...Cnasty wrote:I was reading a little about it and they said the likely hood that it was 2 things:
Pilot suicide
Instant explosion from a bomb or other
There was no distress call meaning it happened instantly or the pilots shut it off and dive bombed it.
Even if they crashed it though they said there would be some remnants of a crash. They said its more likely it was an explosion meaning it would be in millions of little pieces.
They blew it up? I get that. But there HAS to be some pieces. It didn't just vaporize like Marvin Martian hit it... There have to be some pieces right? I know it's a big area, but it's hard to believe they can't find anything. Mind bottling.
They did find some remnants of an oil slick on Saturday but no pieces around it
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) - Samples taken from an oil slick off Malaysia are not from missing Malaysia Airlines plane based on a chemistry lab analysis, an official said on Monday.
"The oil is not used for aircraft," Maritime Enforcement Agency spokesman Faridah Shuib said, adding that it was a type used by ships.
Worthy says there are numerous crimes, including rapes and killings, that would have likely been avoided had Detroit police and its now-defunct crime lab not let the kits languish.
So far funding, all from grants or donations, has allowed for the testing of 1,600 kits. Of those, DNA identified 100 serial rapists, meaning the DNA appeared in at least two kits or were tied to suspects in other cases.
Fifty-nine percent of the DNA tested matched DNA submitted to the national database (CODIS, the Combined DNA Index System), leading to 14 prosecutions.
She's used the example of Shelly A. Brooks, who killed and raped five women after the date on one of those forgotten kits.
The small portion of tested kids revealed rapists that also committed crimes in 23 states, plus the District of Columbia.
The kits are being sent to private labs at a cost of $1,200 to $1,500 per kit, which equates to a total cost of more than $13.5 million to test all 11,303.
