Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
I don't know what the hell is going on with the Pacers. They're losing to bad teams and they're getting blown out doing it. Right now, I think they get knocked out in the first round regardless of who they play unless something big changes.

i typically down play all the media nonsense about locker room issues and team chemistry and stuff like that but i actually think something is so bad that this story might be under reported.LetsGoPeay wrote:I don't know what the hell is going on with the Pacers. Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
Pretty crazy. It was just last year's playoffs that the starters would take the podium so that no 1 player would get any more media attention than the next guy. Now there's all kinds of rumors about the inner turmoil involving the team.
The Heat are trying to give them the #1 seed, basically by sitting Wade for the last 10-15 games for the most part, and the Pacers are just imploding.
I still am not close to writing them off, I'm guessing a series win or 2 in the playoffs can bring them back together and have them ready for Miami in the ECF. But as Peay said, a loss in the 1st or 2nd round especially wouldn't be shocking at this point.

Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
The Pacers play by play guy (Mark Boyle, super intelligent in an entertaining way and a great follow on Twitter) is a frequent guest on the Indy sports radio guy I listen to in the afternoons. He's intimated that Paul George and Hibbert might have been anointed as stars too early and that Lance Stephenson not making the All-Star team might have actually hurt the team more than Stephenson because he hasn't handled it well. Basically, the core of the team is young, immature, and now its showing at the worst possible time.DRiccio21 wrote:i typically down play all the media nonsense about locker room issues and team chemistry and stuff like that but i actually think something is so bad that this story might be under reported.LetsGoPeay wrote:I don't know what the hell is going on with the Pacers. This goes to show in my opinion how under rated the chemistry of the egos, stardom, and media attention the Heat get and how well they actually handle it and the success they have had since the first year.shel311 wrote:Pretty crazy. I honestly dont know much about the Pacers situation right now but its very cool to see how well the Heat have grown together.Lebron and Wade of course are the center pieces but keeping guys like Haslem, Battier, and Anderson have been vital for the chemistry of this squad. We have seen it not work plenty of times putting huge stars together on one team and it imploding.
Im glad to see Dave with a little chemistry awareness though. Makes me emotional.

As a Heat fan, you really should listen to Lebby, especially during the playoffs when they'll be Heat-centric every show.Cnasty wrote:This goes to show in my opinion how under rated the chemistry of the egos, stardom, and media attention the Heat get and how well they actually handle it and the success they have had since the first year.shel311 wrote:Pretty crazy. He obviously isn't a chemistry guy, but he talks so much about the familly atmosphere around the Heat and now no other team can duplicate what they have. At one point, probably 10 of the 12 guys on the roster were playing on discounted deals, that never happens. If that's not a Lebron James led team, they would be the most beloved team in the NBA considering how fans hate all the greedy players blah blah blah.
They turned down a deal with Evan Turner for Haslem, probably mostly out of loyalty as Haslem turned down I believe it was basically an extra $20-30 mil in his last 2 deals just to stay with Miami. Lebby tells a story about how the last time Haslem saw his mother smile was when he told her he was resigning with Miami, and for her funeral, all the Heat players and executives showed up right in the ghetto for the funeral, and Haslem actually had to send a couple of his boys to guard Pat Riley's car during the service so no one would do anything to it

It was cool to see that last year with the Sox as well after the year before with that clubhouse.
Cool to see when those things come together.

Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
Plumless basically admitted he was "intentionally" fouling Lebron.
I don't know the exact quote, but Plumlee said something to the effect of his initial reaction was to foul to put Lebron on the line so he didn't give up the dunk.

I really didn't see a foul unless it was with his left arm into the body of LeBron. Otherwise it looked like he got ball. Sure, his hand slipped into LeBrons wrist/arm but it was after he dislodged the ball from James' hand.

Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
He didnt get any ball. He got all hand.
It came from underneath by his wrist and then proceeded to go through his hand. The 42 second mark is the best angle.

Re: NBA 2013-2014 Thread
i think he's getting ball with his fingertip(s)
I guess it depends how the game has been called up to that point, as ridiculous as that sounds
FWIW, the nicknames on the back of the jersey's is one of the worst apparel marketing ideas to date IMO
