You have to buy a helipad for choppers. Don't know why they wouldn't put a pad near the hangar or just combine the two, but that's how it works. You can also buy the tank for your hangar for $3 million I think. With Michael I always have a harrier in my hangar. Not sure how it happened because I've stolen them 20+ times, put them in my hangar and when they are destroyed they are gone forever. But this time it just keeps respawning there.
I didn't have to buy a helipad. I swore it has an H on the map and there is already a helipad on there.
I will check again.

I already bought a hanger, just couldn't figure out where on the phone to buy a chopper.
Trevor's hangar and helipad are unlocked through the story. The other two characters need theirs purchased separately.

My game was screwed up last night. After I tried to get online I couldn't start any missions or races on the main game.

AJ had the same issue. I was actually able to get online for a little while but couldn't do anything it drive around, kill people, and run from cops. Being wanted in this game is not fun anymore. They need to tone it down.

Mine froze in the middle of a chase for about three minutes, and then unfroze.

I'm pretty frustrated with this game right now. I can't get online. When I play the story mode I can't start a mission or anything. All I can do it drive around, kill people, and get a wanted level. I can't race, can't do triathlons, nothing. This is very unsatisfactory.

I finally got to the opening credits of online. Froze when it was race time. I'll try tonight for a few mins but I am not going to waste my time if I can't get in.

I've read on a few gta forums that people are able to fix these issues as well as play online if they delete their in game files... I think I'll just wait til they fix the issues, because I'm not restarting the story mode again!

This is what happened to me this morning. Sat at the waiting for other racers screen before I had to quit the game. That was the first time I actually got to see online period.
My character looks like a skinny version of me. Dig the crew logo Peay. Solid work.

I was able to play from 9pm till about 5am online without any issues.
When you are trying to do the online race, use the play with a invite only. And seems to work this way.
Once you get tutorial done you shouldnt have any more issues.
We had some fun last night, But Dan is right the wanted levels are nuts.

I haven't even been able to access online mode.. won't ever let me in. Anyone else having this? Seems like I'm reading a lot about people being able to play, and it's frustrating...

What online mode are you playing? Solo? Invite Only? Or just the standard?

When I was trying to get online I usually just selected "Go to GTA Online" or whatever that option is. Anybody tried that yet to see if its working today?

It worked fine last night.
First time I tried, I got stuck at the racing screen, waiting for other players. I quit the game, restarted, hit X to load online....and it worked just fine. You'll look down through the clouds after the race for like 5 min, don't quit--that's normal.
Wanted levels are absurd. Do not steal a nice car to do missions. If you steal a normal or crappy car, you won't get a wanted level. But if you steal a nice car, the cops will get a tracking alert when they see you.
Now, that said....when you steal a car to go to Los Santos Customs when it tells you to, try to find the nicest car you can. I recommend going to the golf course area. Cars like the Corvette, R8, and Lambo won't be allowed because they have trackers; but I was able to get a Jaguar X-type convertable with a V10 engine and it tops out at over 125 mph without speed mod, can take a ton of damage, handles great.
If your car gets too damaged, don't destroy it to do the insurance claim; mine last night cost me over 1200. Just leave the game and come back, it'll be good as new.
Btw, quick tip for some easy cash--go to Los Santos Customs, park your car, steal one of the cars sitting outside, drive it inside.....and sell it. Easy 2k

Will only work like once an hour though.

I got to it by clicking X on the load window. It switches from "now loading story mode" to "now loading online mode"
