DRiccio21 wrote:what don't you get about AJ saying he wants to see his kids everynight? thats a no brainer to me, actually the only thing that made sense to me.
i look forward to seeing my dog every night, i couldnt imagine if i had little Reeeeeech-i-o's running around the balcony
Why couldn't he see his kids if his wife was his girlfriend and they lived together harmoniously?
if she was my girlfriend I'd have to kick her out every now and again ...simply cause I could....and she's a woman...

imo, once you get kids involved its not about you anymore.
so all the "what is best for me" goes out the window and you have to do whats best for the kid. that makes the relationship with your wife much more important.
if there are no kids there is no marriage, for me anyways.

I want a trophy wife, at least 10 years younger than me, so in that sense I have to wait until I am at least 28 to get married.

AJ summed it up almost perfectly for me minus the kids part.
Honestly a lot of it is financial. Sure there is the love factor, thoughts of a family down the road, and all that stuff as well which is obviously huge.
BUT financial aspect is very big. The amount of loan you can get for a married couple and a mortgage, the medical insurance savings are HUGE, and the tax breaks are damn great from what I have seen from filing independently.
I was living with my wife within 6 months and we were together for 7 years before we decided to get married. She never gave me the "you better put a ring on this finger or Im out of here!" speech, I just knew this was the woman I wanted to marry.
I had my Riccio life and one day little Riccio will meet a bikini model that he will flip his script and marry. Just wait...

Which is why I am even bringing it up, how funny! I just turned 30. For every five "Happy Birthday!" greetings I got, I got two "So, when are you getting married
I am exactly 30 and getting married in 5 days. I feel like Trendon started this thread because of me.

Be careful, it might be your daughter about 20 years from now.
Oh, and Trendon, I do agree with a lot of your points in this thread. My girl and I aren't remotely religious so I could honestly care less if we ever got married or not. But like others said, the financial aspect of it really does make it worth it, and it'll be more worth it in a couple of years or whenever we pop out a little Shel311.

I would assume that money is the biggest reason.
Not to offend the religious, but religion is a bunch of brainwashing bullshit.

I wonder:
Does everyone that has "financing" as a big aspect have a pre-nup to not fuck up their finances in the future just in case shit happens?
Also, for Trendon, you can look at things like life expectancy, mortality rate, etc. Marriage might be negative for monetary reasons but what is the value of your "potentially" increase life values.

I wasn't bringing religion into it. I was stating that pre-marital counseling is a very good idea.
Especially if you don't want to be dividing your stuff in five years.

i'll be laying in bed after a i fuck a bitch the first time and in a really funny way i'll say, just so you know if anything ever happens you gotta sign a pre-nup.
its like a little insurance policy for me down the road even tho i tell them ten minutes later that there is no shot i'm getting married or want a girlfriend
granted telling girls that makes them love you even more cause they all think they can change you into wanting to date them
