Fuck Cutler. Lets not act like he or any of them couldnt go into another profession if they dont like the way it works. They know its a business going in. Is he allowed to be a little upset/surprised about it, sure, its human nature. But to sit there and say they work harder than anyone else works at their respective craft is ridiculous. Their craft is unique and their god(or whoever) given ability has set them along that path.

And I am not quite sure how being traded and probably getting a contract extension for huge dollars is going to ruin Cutler's "dreams". Being mentioned in a trade doesnt fuck up their dreams or hurt them when it comes to maximizing their short time in the league.

As for the whoel "being wanted"....its not like they are being released, they are being traded. the other team 'wants' him so i dont get that either.

thank you! also you'd think Cutler would wanna be traded as that team is run oriented to the max.

Ummm....a ton of guys in the pro's work their tail off.

A lot of them are gifted naturally, but a lot are like all the other so called "good " players in collge. But its their focus and WORK ETHIC ( training, eating right, not partying) that seperate them from the others.

I just think without god given ability all the extra work in the world is meaningless. I mean what is it Shaq or Cutler do that is SOOOO much work? lift weights? play games? practice? study film?

Lets not pretend anyone could put in the equal work Cutler does and be an NFL QB...he is one due to his god given ability. So I personally dont buy the fact that he works soooo hard.

To me the work he puts in isnt much different than what a doctor has to put in. The 'hard work' is implied based on the job you choose.

With out these "asshole Gms/owners/coaches"...what real use does Cutler's skill set have? none. So to me, they have the right to improve their business, and if that involves trading shaq or cutler or whoever, then so be it. its the life these athletes chose. Im sure it could have been handled a little more professionally, but thats life. shit happens.

Im just tired of reading articles about how multimillion dollar athletes FEELINGS are hurt. I couldnt care less.

sure to start off you need god given talent... this we can agree on.

but you don't think there are another 1000 guys out there that DIDN'T make the NFL that have god given talent because they didn't work as hard as the guys who did?

For every Cutler, there are 100 guys that decided to party in college instead of work to get better.

sure saying "lifting weights? play games? practice? study film" is an easy way to trivialize what they do... but they do this shit every day from probably age 13 to age 35 or so. and i wouldnt say all those things are so easy. we were both athletes, both played college sports... i sure as hell didn't have what it took to get up every day at 6 am, do double sessions, work on my own time to get better, go to practice, go running etc etc and i consider myself a hard worker and a mentally tough person. i can honestly admit to myself, i couldn't do it, it was too much. to do all that work then come out and have a bad game or not play as much as i would have liked was mentally grueling on me.

i never said doctors don't work hard... the good doctors out there work incredibly hard to get where they are. same with the best of just about every skillful profession. and i respect all of them the same.

as for the gms/owners/coaches... they have their jobs. they have a responsibility to make their team better. they can cut you/release you/trade you/do whatever they want as long as they do it in a fair and professional way. you keep saying "this is the life the athletes choose", i dont think they choose to be treated unprofessionaly and thats all i'm talking about. I never once said that being traded or released or any of that wasn't part of the job, i certainly realize it is. but these gms/owners/coaches are out for themselves and their teams, why shouldn't the player be looking out for himself.

i really think the fan can't get past the money aspect of pro sports and they almost demonize the player because of the money they make, that to me is unfair

as a fan though why should I care about Cutler's feelings? Thats my point.

I have no problem with Cutler being pissed, Im just not interested in his feelings in teh least is my point.

If I was the GM of the Broncos, I would have never gone about it that way. But, thats life.

I enjoy our weekly debates/discussions :)

I agree with this 1000%.

Win my team ball games, do what you are paid to, and use that god given talent/hard work to win a damn Super Bowl.

Go out and show McDaniels how much of a bad ass you are and make him look like a fool in trying to trade you. Dont sulk like a little bitch and demand to be traded.

If you want to compare it "our" jobs Dave, I know if I heard rumors of someone coming to take my position Id work my ass off and see where my flaws lie to try and improve on those.

Id then be told to get off the NDL forum all freakin day and make the hospital some billions.

what if 2 months before everyone was telling you that you were the future of the company and then you made the All Pro hospital persons team.

then they told you that they were trying to replace you out of the blue without warning

sure you can sack it up and try harder, but if you're not wanted no matter what you do, is it really going to matter? they are probably going to replace you no matter what you do... so why not start looking for another job.

and i'm not sticking up for Jay Cutler, you can insert anyones name into these arguments... cause i've heard from a couple coworkers that went/knew him at vandy that he was a complete douchebag.

and AJ, i don't care about his feelings either. but that doesnt mean i dont understand why he's doing what he's doing.

Saying these guys dont work hard is the worst thing I have ever heard.

One of my best boys is the backup QB for the Carolina Panthers (Matt Moore) and he works his ass off. He shows up at the facility on Tuesday morning (7 AM) leaves around 2:30. Goes home watches film, has dinner then goes back to the facility for mettings and more walkthrough till around 9:30 PM.

Thats a regular everyday for him. They are at their facilities for around 11-12 hours a day. I understand that you do not care about their "feelings" but they are regular people just like everyone else.

Moore was cut by the Dallas Cowboys before being picked up by the Panthers and was devastated. He had made friends on the team, loved the coaching staff (especially Garrett) and had bought a place out there because they were telling him one thing and did another. I am using him as an example because thats the best example I can give that is close to the situation. Cutler has every reason to be pist, but at some point you have to get over it and perform on the field. He def has the right to be confused and pist but has to understand that the guy is trying to bring a guy in that he knows from where he came from (NE and Cassell)

[quote="DRiccio21"]you made the All Pro hospital persons team./quote]

When Corey and I worked together, they used to announce the starting lineups for our night shift, and we'd come running out, giving low 5s, smoke and everything!!!

Welcome to my complaints about baseball that you all yell at me about.

Don't like when a guy celebrates his home run? Don't give one up. Don't like the dance he does after he scores? Stop letting him score? Don't like the pitcher's fist pump after a big K? Don't strike out.

Don't like possibly getting traded?

Win.

CUTLER’S HOUSE FOR SALE
Posted by Mike Florio on March 13, 2009, 5:28 p.m. EDT

There’s been a dispute regarding whether Monday’s call between Broncos coach Josh McDaniels and quarterback Jay Cutler made a tenuous situation better or worse.

Our money was on “worse.”

And we’re preparing to double our bet.

Cutler’s house is reportedly for sale, according to ABC7 in Denver.

The $2 million home went on the market Thursday. And while it would be easy to say that it’s all a coincidence, we think that the surrounding circumstances make this something other than a coincidence.

We’re not surprised. Not a bit. The mere fact that the McDaniels-Cutler meeting occurred through a phone line told us all we need to know.

Put simply, neither party feels sufficiently compelled to salvage the relationship to meet in person, break bread, and hash out their differences.

So Cutler continues to force the issue. And unless the Broncos can obtain in return for Cutler’s contract a quarterback who can play nearly as well as Cutler, McDaniels could end up on the Cam Cameron head-coaching career path.
