$50 billion exchanged hands but only about 10-12 billion was used on the Olympics. And that's a generous estimate.

Oh damn
A passenger on a plane headed for Istanbul tried to have the flight diverted to Sochi, Russia after claiming there was a bomb on board. The Associated Press reports that the Pegasus Airlines flight in question, which originated in the Ukraine, has safely landed at Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul. Authorities are currently trying to safely apprehend the suspect who unsuccessfully attempted to hijack the flight and steer it to the site of the Winter Olympics.
