They were better in the field, Rojas slightly better at the plate. If I'm not mistaken, Rojas played less games than both, but had a higher total WAR than both as well.
Booo!!!!
From my phone (so not looking again), longevity. They did it longer. You could argue why I include Telvest but not Rojas, though; and I might not have an answer for that.
i actually retract my post as I looked incorrectly, Valles and Ruiz have higher WAR numbers than Rojas
That being said, Ruiz is very similar overall.

Douglas, Pickett, and Rojas are very similar according to Similarity scores. Scores for Rojas are 1-Pickett 909 2- Douglas 902 3- Ramos 890

I think a lot of us are doing this with other players as well, so we have players that don't get enough to get in, but also get enough to stay on the ballot. Looked like the percentages stay relatively the same for most players.

Trendon didn't vote for Ruiz (which makes no sense because his 162 game matches with Frank Thomas, who was a lock for HOF), and I've yet to vote. Going to do so this weekend when I can focus on it w/o work getting in the way

Btw, and maybe I could help w this since Bernie has to put a ton of work into this already, but I think defensive numbers would help too.
If a guy is a "really good" hitter but one of the best fielders ever at his position, wouldn't that be worth considering over another "really good" hitter?
I mean, guys like Ozzie Smith didn't get into the HOF based just on their offensive numbers, they got in because of their stellar defense.

Ozzie Smith got in because he was able to do things at SS that had never been seen before during that ERA,
Omar Visquel comes to mind as a player that was similar to Ozzie but during the same period he was up against NOMAR, Jeter, AROD, and I dont think Omar is going to get in anytime soon

Thank you for allowing us new guys to abstain from voting, I wouldn't feel comfortable voting for guys I know nothing about, aside from the top post here.
Great write up Bernie! Thank you.

Voted.
If it isn't too hard, can you post the career numbers of the players who have made it into the Hall. I would love to compare numbers of who has made it to the guys that are trying to get in.

Bernie... I'm not requiring SD to vote... if he wants to, he's certainly welcome to. But I won't dock him for not doing it.
Thanks again man. Appreciate it.

Yeah, that's why I put the question marks. Just haven't heard from him or George if he's abstaining. If he's the last one I will close it up.

I'll vote when I'm ready to vote. I'm so far in debt that another $500k can't really hurt any more.
